Omega Zero
Please, somebody has already discovered any trace of Liberty City, any indication of the city in Vice City? (remember that on the top of one building, you could see a trace of Vice City on GTAIII) Thanx
Warmaster129
Can you see New York from Miami? No. In GTA3 you could not see a trace of Vice, it was Ghost Town.

sensory
"See you in Miami".to the bridge SI-SSV an ad of the airport that was because they were letting some people in on where the next game is going to take place. why the hell would they have traces of liberty city in vice city, though? Qweek
I f you go to the studio there is a set that looks like one of the streets out of liberty.
Ken---KenKo
The first one i saw was when that dude with the cowboy hat said the same thing to danald love that donald love says to 'Fido' in GTA3. "Nothing drives down reality costs like a good old fashion gang war..." Probably not as important but the sign that says "Vacation In Liberty City" or something like that and shows a picture of 'Fido' in a cabby being chased by the police. Is that the type of stuff u were looking for?
1DER
The only thing that I have seen is in the shooting gallery, when you are on the second part of it. The cutouts that pop out and slide around are characters from GTAIII.
Vicetopia
Umm.. I have.. Listen to the Vice radio stations. Fernando is on there and so is Laslo. Laslo is currently the host of a rock station in Vice, and if you listen in GTA 3 he's on Chatterbox. On Chatterbox he mentions being the host of a Rock station and being fired, so he was then forced to host a chat show. And I need not mention who Fernando is.. That "love" guy. Currently the host of Emotion, in GTA 3 he's the guy who puts the "spark back in your love life" for marriage couples by setting the husbands up with hookers. EDIT: Also there's a bunch of cars in Vice City that are also in GTA 3. Cheetah, Infernus, Idaho, etc. I may be way off topic as to what you were expecting by "connections" between the 2 games... But there are tons of connections. Donald Love is also in Vice City. Is that not a connection?

TheSlayerOfGod
Lets not forget in the cutscene at the very front of the game it says "Marco's Bistro , Liberty City" We all know where that is.. (Eat until you blow up) Your might remember the Forelli brothers from GTA3 Sonny Forelli must have been related to them somehow.

Yeah, but isn't there a younger version of that radio station owner dude from GTA3 also?.. thats just part of the "story" i think..
lunamonkey
How about thinking about any clues as to the next release of the game? Are there any mentions of place names in Vice City, like San Fran? or London? Just a thought. I've only played vice for a few hours so far, so I haven't found any. Keep hunting,
SWChimself
..., it was Ghost Town. Ghost town? How do you get there??? Is there a ghost town in vice city?
lunamonkey
Ghost town is the name used to refer to the scene in GTA3 in the intro, (the bank area) Ghost : Because it's not solid, and it's floating in mid air :-/ (It's near the dam in GTA3)
TiTaN_KGB
well another connection to gta3 is phil, who gets his arm blown off. You meet him in gta3 as your friendly gun supplier. its lazlow btw
NightShadow
It might seem like Phil. but didnt the GTA3 phil said he had his arm blown off in nicaragua? not a boomshine accident. and plus, the GTA3 sounded wimpy and not as tough as the VC one
adamcs
in Vice City he is called "Phil Cassidy" and in GTA3 he is referred to as just "Phil". But if you look at the GTA3 map it says "Phil Cassidy's Army surplus" so it has to be the same guy.
jimmsta
Keep in mind that the original GTA games really had no connection to each other... GTA 1 took place in practically all the same places that the new 3d versions take place... GTA1 or 2 had a mission pack, which was a waste, imo. (being that it took place in London in 1969). Basically, the only way that they are linked up are by the graphical evidence in the game itself, and the fact that R* seems to just be remaking the original GTA games... in 3D, of course. Jaxen
Ok Donald love - the guy who owned the radio station? He is in Avery's missions, he teaches donald love things (When he is talking about housing prices, gang wars and plagues that is virtually the same line donald love throws you when he wants the same thing! Phil cassidy prolly never was in 'nam or nicaragua he just hallucinates everything ('If i had you back in Nicaragua maybe i'd still have my arm' But he's definitely the same guy. That was one of the funniest missions ("Mother hen to broken spoon... Spoony woony... Wooo wooo!")# I heard somewhere that the gate boxes are the same and have the same adverts in. The liberty advert by the air port. On the radio, you have young toni from flashback playing flash. You have the British guy 'Freddy needs a nanny'. I guess he's freddy. You have Lazlow (real person if you look in the credits) who is in V-Rock and Chatterbox in GTAIII You have Fernando on emotion who was an 'entrepreneur' from GTAIII. You have Morgan Merriweather as a guest, he presented Double Cleff. You have 8Ball's bomb shop. There are many more, so many i can't remember. SWMetallicaFan
Hey guys. Got Vice City for PC when it came out and i love it. I also have GTA and GTA 3 for PC. One connection no one has mention is the naked guy on VCPR. He calls up Chatterbox in GTA 3 and says that winter was invented by people to sell cloths. Have fun all. I did the mission today where i had to bring Phil to the hospital, just after he was drunk again and played with his dynamite. His arm got blown of. Just like in LC, he had only one arm left.
