Zello
Great interview. Now let’s hope the other Rockstar dudes can do interviews. We need Gary Foreman, Terry Donovan, and of course Sam and Dan Houser interviews one day. GTAKid667
This was a good interview and I'm looking forward to seeing the unedited version when that is released too. Nice to see Jamie King willing to talk about his time at R* and hear his perspective on a few of the things we've discussed in the community for years. Nice work Killaz, Nestor and Fabry! Jamie was super nice. He didn't try to avoid any questions, and is very passionate about his time at R*. It was a pleasure to do this and share it with the community<3 Stay tuned for more in the coming weeks GTAKid667, Nikhilmao, eejyool and 7 others 9
Chazza354
This is genuinely the most insightful and honest interview we’ve ever got from one of the core Rockstar guys from that magic era. We’ve had the odd interview here and there from Sam etc, but usually it’s really to promote a new game, whereas this feels like just chatting about the good times over a beer. His answer about his reasons for leaving was intriguing but understandably vague.. there are still so many untold stories and mysteries about the company. I hope one day one of these guys writes a memoir about it all. Fantastic stuff - kudos to Jamie for being so open and friendly, he seems like a really cool guy. Also a wonderful job by Killaz for asking some challenging and interesting questions. Can’t wait to see the full version. zBiglucky, victm92 and Kirsty
Zello
Should have asked them like why were their names on some early Take Two titles A lot of the Rockstar folks were credited in those games but they weren't Rockstar titles.

We had limited time with him. Would have asked a lot more questions if not. Maybe cause their executive positions at Take Two at that time? There's a part of the interview where he suggests they "cleaned up" some third party games Take-Two were publishing during the early days, by doing QA etc, to help them get them out, so maybe it relates to that? Zello
I got too many small stupid questions so don’t worry. They also were listed on the Mafia 1 credits too except for Sam. I really wanted to know how much involvement they had in that game and his thoughts on Mafia. Kirsty

I still play through it a couple of times per year, but I guess I never paid much attention to the credits lol.

Zello
Though not GTA or Rockstar related I was hoping that you'd ask about his failed company 4mm games. The only reason why I care about that is because they made Def Jam Rapstar which flopped. What was the thinking behind developing that game and using the Def Jam name because in the 2000s EA had made the Def Jam fighting games Def Jam Vendetta, Fight for NY, and ICON. So this was me when I saw rapstar revealed. Why did he make it a karaoke game instead of a fighting game like the previous three and why use the Def Jam name since ICON was fairly recent at the time it came out 3 years before Rapstar did and while it was the weakest of the EA series people didn't really like ICON but Rapstar was much worse. Why not just drop the Def Jam in the name and call it Rapstar. Edited December 7, 2021 by Zello
