It feels like they really put in a lot of effort like early on, first few months or so, retexturing and remodeling things by hand and then for some reason decided to switch to AI upscalers.

GTA Vice City: Wie man Brücken freischaltet | Eurogamer.dehttps://i.imgur.com/oHKG8kG.jpg

Look at this, for example. That's a glow up for sure. (And the fences, grass etc. isn't missing in DE, Colon Hotel just exists multiple times, as do most of the hotels)

Why did they put so much effort into remodeling all the hotels on Ocean Drive (which is btw probably one of the best looking locations in any of the DEs), but then upscale CJs pants? Just doesn't make much sense.

Makes full sense to me, GSG ran out of time or they were forced to push the game out in this state by R*/T2 to catch on to the Christmas sale in 2021 (which indeed worked for them). And as all the fans/community went bananas at GSG for obviously a broken product, R*/T2 remained silent and let GSG cop all of it. Now this tweet from GSG makes more sense to me when some one asked GSG about updates. Bet R*/T2 didn't let them update the game, and as is clear now, sat on the game without doing any updates themselves for 8+ months before releasing it on steam just to have a second round of cash grab. I am by no means giving GSG an all clean cheat, but R*/T2are huge contributors to this debacle of a release no doubt. If R* would have been honest in their intentions with this trilogy, they would have shown it when the game got released on Steam by appropriately patching it.

Now when I think back, I now think that GSG started with the environment and lighting updates first, which is not absolutely terrible in this release, but possibly touched the character models at the end of the project time line, by the time when time was running out and the game needed to be pushed out for cash grabbing during the Christmas 2021 sale. No wonder the character models ended up being one of the main jokes of this release.

Keep in mind that the Definitive Edition was originally slated for May 2022 before the release date was brought forward by Rockstar, likely in response to E&E getting delayed.

I absolutely think Rockstar are the ones fundamentally at fault here.

I love how this forum still has hope...

There was less hope in Star Wars IV:New hope than there.

Im proud of hardcore GTA community, but I cannot say same about Rockstar.

I must say the handling around the Definitive Edition in general has absolutely made me lose respect for Rockstar. In the nicest way that I can possibly say this I honestly think they're one of the worst developers out there right now. I genuinely do not think any other major developer shows the same level of disdain for their fanbase, whilst still maintaining such poor communication.

To be clear - I don't just mean with the Definitive Edition - GTA Online has its share of problems, and I find it hilarious how GTA IV, RDR and even RDR2 have never received updates to improve the experience on modern hardware. You can't seriously claim that the PS5 is incapable of running RDR2 at 60fps, for example.

I 've just started Epic Games Store (they update at 5PM here in Spain)... and no trace of the DE....

Maybe next Thursday?... But then, it wouldn't be January...

Rockstar... what's going on?

Yeah I remembered when I said it will turns out bad based on recent rockstar handlings of situations

. People hated when I post rumours it will be just Unreal Wrapper. They have even hall of shame there, rockstar cannot do bad they said.

Then they realised I was all right as few others. It was like something out of Bible...

But I sadly realise, rockstar is no longer top dogs. Im definitely curious what they deliver for GTA VI. But Im nowhere hyped as I used to be...

So, no news about the release of DE on EGS. It must have been postponed to February. Still, it's odd that R* doesn't say anything about it, since they said it would be released at the end of January.

It's either been pushed back, or it will quietly drop later today accompanied by an FYI tweet from Rockstar. We didn't get any prior official notice of the Steam release, it just released on the store and Rockstar tweeted about it later.

Considering the Epic Games Store works with the Pacific timezone, I think the latest I'd expect it is somewhere about 8PM UK, which would be 12PM Pacific, otherwise it may have been postponed.

Rockstar and delays sadly go together like peanut butter and chocolate. Wouldn't be surprised if the Epic release was pushed back at the last minute (yet again).

Steam version dropped so quietly, that even Rockstar didn't know about it :prismkek:

Well they're probably doing something at least, otherwise this waiting period to release the Trilogy DE on the Epic Games Store wouldn't make much sense.

Well, DE on Steam hasn't been touched for 4 days. So if any of y'all hoped to see R* release truly patched DE on Epic and patch DE on Steam simultaneously, you're in for a disappointment.

They've been working on bug fixes, but most likely just very minor fixes like the Steam release. I don't think anyone in this thread is realistically expecting anything major lol, you're preaching to the choir.

All this has just given me a higher appreciation of the fact that the Rockstar of 20 years ago brought out III, Vice City and San Andreas within a 4 year span, each one an iconic classic in its own right.

One thing, that Rockstar needs to stop doing is giving those unrealistic timeframes, it's like they never learn on their mistakes.

I'm sure we would have fun with less elaborate products, AA titles, but well polished.

Imagine if they made "mini-GTA's", and had a more arcade approach, like the classics. I'm sure they would sell well.

Spin-off titles on the Switch would've been great

I found something in GTA SA changelist on SteamDB, anyone knows what's this?

"Added has_adult_content_sex"

"Removed has_adult_content_sex"

Link

EDIT: Nevermind, it propably was just the game's tag.

The "sex" tag on Steam keeps being added and removed to random games for some reason, it's probably a quirk in their back-end. Notice how it's affected thousands of games and does so a lot of times.
