GTA5 the right ultra setting on pc?

Recommended Posts

Hello,

i have an 2k monitor/ r9 5900x/ rtx3080ti & i feel like to dumb to understand how to set gta5 graphics on ultra, i hope someone can help me with this:

-FXAA

-MSAA

-NVIDIA TXAA

-Reflexion MSAA

-Frame Scaling Mode

^^Also if i put everything on ultra + frame scaling mode on max, its like ~10fps maybe, so i have googled it & got just few different answears wich confuse me.

Like if i put frame scaling mode i can disable fxaa or msaa, i dont know, or if i have txaa i can disable msaa??? something like this i read on google, but i simply dont get it.

Can someone post ultra settings screen for a 2k monitor or/and explain it pls? would be really thankfully.

Frame scaling (also known as resolution scaling) isn't meant to be maxed out. Leave it for last. That's why it's in advanced graphics.

It increases or decreases render quality (internal resolution) but keeps the same output resolution.

I generally don't need it so I leave it off.

On a 1440p monitor, 2.5x frame scaling would render the game in 6400x3600, almost 8k.

For the options you listed, I use:

  • FXAA: Off unless you can not use TXAA.
  • msaa: 4x on 1080p, 2x on higher resolutions, or with frame scaling > 1.0
  • TXAA: On with 2x or 4x MSAA. Doesn't blur in motion like FXAA.
  • Reflection MSAA: DO NOT USE. It breaks reflections on some graphics cards. There is no noticable visual difference for me on Ultra.

I put most of the other settings at their maximum, except:

  • grass: High. Too much performance disparity on Ultra.
  • soft shadows: softer. nVidia PCSS looks slightly better but costs a lot more performance and had some bugs for me.
  • Depth Of Field and Motion Blur off

Hello, big thank on you for help.

also if i understand right i use:

FXAA: off

msaa: 2x

TXAA: on 2x

reflection MSAA: off

Rest on ultra, besides the stuff you mentioned.

Can i just ask what hardware you have & what fps you have on gta5? (maybe you play fiveM, what fps/settings you have there?)

Just wondering because gta5 is old & i thought i can max everything out to have atleast 100+ fps (besides frame scaling as you said).

thank you again
