I was hoping for it too but I don't think he will, there are just too many videos around because a lot of people have covered it. In top of that, I saw in one of his videos, he have other things to cover, besides, he have briefly mentioned about the whole Trilogy situation in one of his gaming news videos from 2 days ago.

Honestly, the cracks were already showing shortly around gta online's launch. The shark cards, the Benzies situation, the shift from single player to online focus. The cracks were small but they were there. We just weren't paying attention to them because, hey, they were still developing single player games like RDR2! Then, Take2 went after modders the first time by taking out OpenIV. the cracks started getting bigger...of course, at the time, rockstar went to bat and got the dmca on openIV reversed but it did nothing to fix the cracks. The fissure between R* and the modders and, by extension, the modding community started to form if it wasn't already there to start with.

 

Not to mention GSG, who were war drum studios at the time if I'm not mistaken, made one of the worst san andreas ports for consoles with R* giving them the seal of approval. With this, the cracks grew. Then they grew even larger when for GTA IV's ten anniversary, good game btw, they patched out a bunch of songs and practically did jack sh*t for it. Though, in hindsight, IV got off lucky compared to the trilogy didn't it? The constant re-releases of V really didn't help matters. Hell, they could have offered a free upgrade to the next gen consoles for those who already owned it on the xbox one or the ps4. There were other publishers who did that so they could have  seeing as there's not really much added. Nah, they want ya'll to pay $70 for a game that came out in 2013.

 

Then 2021 happened and that's where R* went dropped their masks. More cracks started to show when they once again went after modders and now are suing a group. After delisting the original copies of the classic gta trilogy with just to hash out an inferior version of the trilogy made by GSG. Not to mention the departures of dan houser and lazlow which is a blow to the studio.

 

The point is, the foundation is gonna crumble eventually and R* will be lucky if people only see them as shadows of their former selves and not something worse.

what people on this forum will come to accept over the next decade is that things change. 20 years is a long time, and the rockstar of today is not the rockstar of yesterday. what's crazy is that as deathdealer said, this really did start almost a decade ago at this point. when people like houser, lazlow and i'm sure other OGs have left, it's the people that made rockstar and the games what they were leaving.

 

this situation reminds me of "adult swim" on cartoon network. they were a cult hit for years, then once the original creative folks left it all went to sh*t. imo, if these people are leaving things are most likely very bad internally.
