Blood Bowl Save Game Corruption (Xbox)

Do not compete in the demolition derby event in San Fiero, potential game breaking bug that corrupts ALL save files and prevents future saves.  

 

Upon completing the mission "Jizzy" in San Fiero I found myself near the stadium with the demolition derby event, in the South of San Fiero. Upon completing the event, win or lose, my game now crashes to the home screen every time I try to save including when starting a new mission and the auto save occurs. It seems that simply competing in the event completely breaks the game and ruins ALL save files. 

 

If I go into the game menu and try to manually load the auto save file that has me in the stadium, the game crashes. If I try to load my manual save file, the game crashes. All my save files are now ruined and cause the game to crash. I cant progress because the game crashes any time I try to start a new mission. My game is completely broken and I cant keep playing now. 

 

I went into the stadium right after completing "Jizzy" and when I exit the stadium I receive a call from Woozy to begin his mission line. This may be a factor in the game breaking bug, but I would not risk entering the demoliton derby what so ever.

UPDATE:
Uninstalling and reinstalling the game fixed the issue and I can now load my old save games and save new ones.

I am still too nervous to compete in the demolition derby events for now.

Devs: Either competing in the derby casued the bug, or competing in it right after finishing "Jizzy" and before receiving the phone call from Woozy casued it. Either way, should be looked into as it was game breaking,

same problem still after reinstall. Game crashes. Playing on series s with game pass.

 

I don't know how but it works now!

That sucks

I just got cocky and went back and did the demolition derby event again... crashed my game when I try to save after completing it, cant load any old save games. Uninstalling and reinstalling now to see if its fixed.

Uninstalling and reinstalling did not fix it this time. All of my save game files now crash the game. Lost all my progress. Why did I go do the demo derby again you may ask? Well, Im an idiot.

The fact you have to worry about doing a specific activity to avoid your game file crashing is embarrassing. There best be a fix for this ASAP. I've had pretty much experience exactly the same.

Yeah i also everytime started in the demolition Derby, i loaded an old save data of "deconstruction" mission. Now it works fine for me. Yeeeeeaaaah gaaaming \o/

 

Lost a bit progress.. but thats okay

This reminds me in the original game I always avoid to save in Madd Dogg's Crib to not make desapear the basketball

Is anybody else having trouble when after completing the blood bowl stadium in san fierro they go to save game and the game just goes to black screen and kicks me back to dashboard? (Gta san andreas) ( xbox one)

So do you know if its gettong fixed as i need to complete it for 100%

Seeing lots of reports of this so it seems to be a common bug, this is a very bad one that needs fixing. Has anyone reported being able to achieve 100% yet? Sounds like it's not possible with this bug, unless you leave this until last, and even then, you won't be able to save your 100% file.

Bro i had this same bug after collecting all 50 oysters without saving, i then did this mission and tried to save when it crashed, pretty sad that this remaster is so buggy considering the game is 15years old. hoping it gets fixed soon so i can actually 100% the game.

I'm trying to get there and I'm already having some issues. I believe spray tags already broke my save file, unsure.

I have similiar problem but with ''architectural espionage'' after I completed it game crashing after few not even minutes I load it, jeez what a f*cking mess this is and I have no hopes they will actually fix it.

If its any concession, I have been able to restore my saved games by unistalling and reinstalling the game. It didn't work the first attempt, but did the second. Of course, this is still preventing us from getting 100% and will probably completely ruin the game for people who don't cruise forums for troubleshooting.

Cheers for the thread, was up to the point where I would have done it in my 100% playthrough. Sucks, because I like doing the stadium events.

Wow this is a bad one. I had like 98.8% or something crazy on my PS2 second play through and never could figure out what I was missing. Really wanted to finally hit 100% now and I guess sadly at the moment it’s impossible. Appreciate the heads up I won’t touch that side mission until there is confirmation it is fixed (if it ever is).

Yup happened to me last night did the derby not knowing it completely messed up my game right after

I got 100% tonight on Xbox One S by doing Blood Bowl last, saving after it still crashes. Even doing New Game after crashes the game, so you can't do the "...Here we go again" achievement

As far as I know it's only on Xbox (one and series)

I’ve had the issue present itself numerous times and can confirm it’s isolated (in my experience) to the autosave feature at the Blood Bowl - the first time I failed the event so it’d kick me out of the stadium, the first time it crashed, the second time it was fine. But I’ve just loaded up a save made just before the autosave and it’s loaded me in fine - you can choose to load a game/save file from the main menu on starting up the game.

I have this problem as well and it’ll load me automatically in bloodbowl and starts mission and I can’t even auto save or force a save

So I wonder if I restart from the beginning even tho I don’t want to will that fix it otherwise I’ll just uninstall and wait til they fix it it’s sucks because this is my first time doing it but I mean if o have to skip it to progress through the storyline I will also is there any other missions that corrupt save game

Have you tried loading your manually saved file from the main menu (when you start up), that’s how I got past it.

That's only one thing, you can do all the rest

Jeez, I hope they will fix it soon..
