To give Grove Street Games some credit, their mobile port of the first Max Payne game was pretty much a nearly uncompromised conversion of the PC original, just with slightly compressed audio and (admittedly kind of awkward) touchscreen controls slapped on. Even if the "Definitive Edition" of the Max Payne trilogy does happen, I'm sure it can't possibly be as bad as the GTA Trilogy remasters. I'm thinking that Max Payne 1 and 2 are the ones going to receive the most attention in the remastering efforts (possibly running under a new engine with updated character models that are hopefully more in line with Max Payne 3 and less like plastic action figures), while Max Payne 3 will just be a straight port of the PC version running with maximum settings. One thing I think would benefit from an update is that the TV shows in the first two games could be done in a similar way to Max Payne 3, where they're presented as actual videos instead of still images. I can already imagine Address Unknown being remade in GTA V's Rockstar Editor or Lords and Ladies remade using assets from Red Dead Redemption II. And even though the modding scene of the Max Payne series is nowhere near as big as GTA's, I hope Take-Two doesn't go after Max Payne mods in light of this delisting. I mean they literally ported aspects of the xbox version without diluting the atmosphere, not to mention it added some quality of life improvements like checkpoints and a f*cking map for once. VC on the other hand, was just horrible. I mean cars could barely handle and there was so much pixelation surrounding the characters models, so much for it to be glaringly obvious lol. Remedy Entertainment, the studio that originally developed Max Payne and Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne, is also handling the remake. Both of its Max Payne games will be bundled together as a single title. As with the original release of Max Payne and Max Payne 2, the remake will be published by Rockstar Games. “The project is currently in the concept development stage.” 'Max Payne’ remake: Developer, Epic Games exclusivity, and release window (inverse.com) I've just finished Max Payne on Series X. It looks pretty good. It's still a very fun, dark and humorous game. They mixed well the bleak noir thriller and still managed to keep some humour in there and not at the expense of the story. However, when one "leaks" we're planning to submit a proposal, there are "Chinese whispers" and it people hear "we're doing a remaster." The timing seems almost a bit too perfect.
