Angryguy Posted May 23, 2003 Share Posted May 23, 2003 I was just going to open up VC for a quick game, but instead of pressing load my mouse moved and I hit delete instead! I didn't see anything saying that I was at the delete screen until AFTER it deleted it and was told me that the delete was successful! Now I have to redo everything at Kauffman Cabs, the Automobile place, about 3 regular missions, and about 20+ packages! Why couldn't the game simply "delete" into the recycling bin so I could restore the file, or at least display a clearer delete confirmation I think that's enough ranting, now I've got to redo all of that lost stuff and figure out which packages I've got to find again . . . at least it was only one days work lost since I keep saving into different files. No. If you haven't modified anything since then, and particularly if the game is installed on another drive or partition, then simply use any file restoration utility. If the files seem beyond restoration, use any disk editor and search in free space for the remains of the files. Each VC savegame file is 201828 bytes long and has the name in the beginning of the header. And since you were before the second half of the game, its headers should begin with some of these values - either 7C A4 00 00h, or 84 A5 00 00h, or 04 A5 00 00h, or F4 A3 00 00h.
