Phill Cassidy's First Mission is broken?

I'm currently up to the part of the game where you do missions for Phil Cassidy his very first mission " Gun Runner " is bugged out or broken.
you're suppose to bust open the crates on the truck then collect the weapons and go back to Phil but once you knock the crates off the truck
you can shoot them, walk through them, hit them with a bat and so on. nothing. on the Original Version you just shot the trucks and the crates would bust open.
at this point i can't progress through the game.

I'm currently Playing the PC version.

anyone else having this issue?

i can't even get back in to RGL i tried the work arounds i found on reddit but still no luck.

I tried as well on PC:

 

Pressed all the possible keys, tried shooting, punching, exploding it, tried with a car, bike... nothing works, looks like 100%ing Vice City will have to wait till they fix this.

Same for me. I remember stating earlier that low-priority bugs can be ignored some times by project management.

 

But THIS sh*t... This definitely was not even tested. You can't miss such bug, to say nothing of this being ignored by PM.

 

Though, I saw a video of this working correctly from some guy.

Update: The Games are back on RGL and mission is still broken. but they are a 8.80Gb download.

the only way i think this mission can be bypassed is save file modification but its sad that things are that bad.

Well i didn't remember this, but you can keep progressing with the game just by buying businesses and doing their missions, until you receive a call. Of course it sucks that we cannot complete the game 100% because of this mission, but at least we can complete the main story.

Somebody has created a mod which "skips" the mission by making it complete upon hitting the truck. Not a perfect fix, but it works!

GTA 3 was terrible with alot of bugs, vice is a little better but still there is hefty amount of them like broken physics, cutscenes being too dark, broken models, etc...

thanks but no need to fix. Don't use any gun. Just hit enemy's cars hardly and one by one. Boxes will fall and break. Later, collect the guns...Mission completed, that's it.
