Unlock All Interiors Glitch at the start - Still functional!

This is an old glitch that most people forgot, but I decided to test it as soon as the game launched and surprisingly it still works.

If you use jetpack cheat (ROCKETMAN) during the intro cutscene while you're in Tenpenny's police vehicle, you won't be thrown out of the car and instead die and respawn at the hospital. Afterwards all shops, gyms, modding garages and mission interiors (such as Crack Den) will be open.

It's an old glitch but really fun if you want do a casual run. Enjoy!

Yeah, you just need to find the jetpack cheat. Activate it during the cutscene where you drive around in the police car and it should result in the same unlocks.

Yes, it works. Crack den, pleasure domes, planning department can be opened with this method)

Does it unlock more properties or just shops?

No. The exploit works by breaking the intro mission that locks up everything according to story mode. There's bound to be better reference on the details somewhere. Easy enough to dig out of main.scm though. Basically, these commands are skipped:

  • Forbidden areas for boats created - not sure why or where.
  • Grove density set to 10 in GAN1 and GAN2 - results in insufficient density for gang attacks.
  • Barriers between islands enabled.
  • Forbidden areas for cars associated with barriers created.
  • Intro contact blip created.
  • Enexes locked according to story mode.
  • Mod garages and the airstrip hangar are locked.
  • Player gets some starting cash.
  • Infinite sprint is disabled - might carry over from a previous save (something the SilentPatch might fix, btw).
  • All weapons are removed - another carry-over tweak?
  • The whole routine with the BMX and associated help.

Unlocking properties is a complex process best handled by the Buy Properties script. It's not too tough to tweak a few variables to convince the script to do the job for us, but if done improperly it can cause game breaking glitches. Fortunately, there's a debug exploit available in mobile (no easy input), remastered, and (probably) DE that can do this job properly.

Enex List:

  • The Johnson House
  • Ammu-Nations
  • Barbers
  • Pizza Stack
  • Cluckin' Bell
  • Burger Shot
  • Tattoo Parlors
  • Clothing shops
  • Gyms
  • The Pleasure Domes
  • Madd Dogg's Crib
  • Vagos Gang House
  • Zero's RC Shop
  • Planning Department
  • Sindacco Abattoir
  • Crack Den

Fantastic, thank you for breaking it down so well. I own the PS4 remastered version and PS5 Definitive edition on my console.

Do you believe this debug exploit could work on those, and if so, how does it work? I swear I mashed X on the PS4 version when starting up a new game and trialled it a few times and it did not work..maybe I had to hold X.

Not the end of the world as I am already almost done with my starter save on DE, I might do it on remastered though..

Not sure on the key, but holding is definitely better. There's a brief instance when the script checks if the button is pressed; spamming is hit or miss. The trick worked on the Xbox 360 version (remastered). I was unable to verify the exploit in DE; apparently the game has dropped off the Game Pass list.

Great, I will give it a go on Remastered when I get my PS4 back.

I am really faint on how this "Debug" exploit works. Do you happen to have a link to the original topic or can summarize what it does, and how I will know it worked?

If it unlocks all properties, do you think you can do this exploit without the need to do the jetpack cheat? It is mainly unlocked properties that I am interested, stores and shops not so much you unlock a lot of those by the time you reach Doberman anyway. Though having the later clothing stores unlocked early could be kinda novel.
