Is this normal for FModel? It is still showing original textures. I am using Isane's improved wasted screen as a example.

Its indeed running DX12 with the -DX12 argument, run MSI afterburner with Riva statistics turner

Hold on, you get the same thing that replaced textures (or sounds) do not show/work ingame?

Ah, I misunderstood. Sometimes when viewing a texture in a modded PAK within FModel, it instead shows the original one from gta.pak

HOW GUYS DID GET PNG FILES, INI, TXT EXPORTING PAK FILE? I ONLY GET UASSET, UBULK, UEXP ECC.. I CAN'T EDIT FOR EXAMPLE GTA 3 DE, SOMEONE EXPLAIN ME, PLEASE ANSWER!

Relax, open umodel, select your GTA directory (or the directory where you extracted the PAK files and OK. Now select "flat view" for easier finding and search for a weapon. Select the uasset file and extract. Now you'll have the uasset content converted into a folder with PNG's, TXT's etc.

The .bin file goes along the .gltf file, if they are both in the same directory, importing the .gltf file will import the whole model.

I'm wanting to edit the texture on the standard police cars, I found what I think is the correct texture but it looks really low res.

I see the lights and inside of the door but cannot make out the bonnet, door exterior etc to texture it.

 

File name: T_police8bit128_BC I've had a look for "police" and this is really the only one that looks relevant.

Can you tell me which texture file you edited to change the face? I am editing the one in this path Game\ViceCity\Characters\Tommy\export_01/T_CSplaySkin_BC.uasset but the game does not change

  • Open Documents\Rockstar Games\GTA <game>\Config\WindowsNoEditor\CustomSettings.ini
  • Add the following lines:
[CustomSettings]
bEnableMouseSmoothing=false

To unpack:

 

1. Install the games in a non "Program Files" directory.

 

2. Give the folder/s Full Control in Properties > Security.

 

3. Open the launcher > settings > pick a game > command line argument and type in -gta-unpak

 

4. Start your game of choice, it will have a black screen, just let it finish and it will close then check your install folder.

 

For working with uassets: https://forum.mixmods.com.br/f49-tutoriais/t7189-gta-de-indice-de-tutoriais

 

You'll need a web page translator.

Nop, indeed it shouldn't ask anything. It should just launch directly like when using "launcher.exe" before the modifications.

Great job! That's how Tommy should've looked like in the Definitive Edition.

 

I wonder if you can apply the same to his other outfits? Maybe you should try fixing his tracksuit outfits as well?

Json is very sensitive to commas,tabs  and {} this signs.So changes can break the code if u missed some symbol. If u'll install json linter on vs code or pycharm or atom -it will highlight ur mistakes, etc.

All of them are free 2 use. 

I ment for the encryption/compiling into .uasset that works for GTA:DE. I am using NotePad++ to edit the .json but its usually just some numbers changing so formatting isnt really a issue.

Sure. I'm just currently working on getting GTA III into a state where I can really enjoy it. I hope @Dingleman can fix the HUD issue and can get rid of the forced colors. I'm still learning how to fully modify the Unreal Engine :D
