PS2 will always be the best, love how has this different feeling/look thru the various things they used (like fog, sand etc). i really feel immersed with this, the map feels big thru the fog, low distance (a higher distance like PC is ok, like similar to it or something but not like in DE, draw distance in DE is too much) etc and you can feel „lost“. 

 

also this orange filter (thingy, you know what i mean) is great 

 

 

skybox is great, overall the PS2 is the best imo and will always be the best for me.

 

also PS2 has coop!!! (in pc you had to mod it in)

I think PS2 is the best version. All original artistic intensions were realised there since it was the primary platform.

PS2. The game looks artistic and realistic at the same time.

San Andreas was the pinnacle of any true gaming experience during the PS2 era – no other game even came close to matching the calibre of gameplay Rockstar managed to capture.

 

PC version is obviously best for anything mod-wise; however, there's no sleeping on the masterpiece which was the original PS2 version.

Windows OG version absolutely.

Xbox version. Only downside was it didn't have the beautiful orange filter. But, it had a rewind/replay option, better graphics than PS2 - much less aliasing. For years it was more tolerable of the two versions to back to. I 100%'d SA on a PS2. so it's not like I didn't play PS2 version. But Xbox got released nearly two years later and that meant a more powerful machine capable of having a replay feature of about 15 seconds. That was superb at the time for a GTA.
