My biggest issues so far are

  • Radio stations. Not complaining about missing songs, but the way it was handled. As each radio station is a single file, songs were just cut where they start to fade in, sometimes cutting off dialogue/DJ commentary. Either they did it last minute because they were expecting the licensing situation to change or, which I think is much more likely, they lost the original files to redo the radio stations. What's frustrating is, they released a box set with all radio stations, including commercials and DJ commentary on CD, uncompressed. Maybe they've forgotten about it, maybe they don't even have the CDs themselves (hard to find these days) or they just didn't care. But the fact that those files exist, even to the public, but they were too lazy to either obtain them or put in a day's work to rip those CDs and redo the stations properly kind of pisses me off.
  • Drive-bys are extremely frustrating. It's always been easier to shoot from a bike as you can shoot straight, but when the bike is not perpendicular to the camera, Tommy starts shooting to the side. Had this extremely frustrating experience during "Autocide" where the pick up drove tightly around the block and I just kept shooting to the side. Eventually ran out of ammo.

Also what the f*ck is up with the suspension on all the cars? They all dip worse than GTA 4 cars.

Apparently they fixed prawn island bridge collision bug that could get you to the second island very early in the game. Rip in pieces

I just noticed on top of the star being wrong the "R" isn't correct either. Look at the bottom that connects to the star it isn't even at the same angle and it is overall to straight. This is how GSG treats R*'s legacy.

That's f*cking hysterical 😂 But how and why were these games produced with zero oversight from R* HQ? I'm just baffled. Its like some higher up gave GSG the green light and then forgot about it entirely until the pre agreed release date, meanwhile GSG outsourced a bunch of work to some company in a non English speaking country who have never even heard of GTA before? This would make a great Internet Historian video for sure.

Played upto Demolition Man. Compared to the old days, this mission is somehow now super easy. But that's probably not got anything to do with the game itself. 
 
Overall, the game has not aged very well, and that's I suppose my main complaint. It's finicky, especially the shooting. But that's how I remember it in the original too so I don't think it's a remaster problem.

But I do know they never promised anything other than improved graphics and GTAV controls. So I can't really blame them for this. 
Personally can deal with this. The nostalgia alone will be a major contributory factor. But I guess this means not many new players will like this game much.

I wonder if other ways to get there early still work and if you can still buy property and save there before unlocking it? My preferred way was to get a 2 star wanted level, use an ambulance to jump over the water from behind the the Demolition Man building to the golf course, then wait at low ground for a police boat to come near and jump in/steal it and then just go ashore at the north of the second island. This would be after completing a couple of side things so I could buy the skumole shack. Then live there and complete 40% of the game before doing any missions. That method doesn't use any glitches so maybe?

 

So yeah I wonder if people have been doing that, or using the getting round the gate to Starfish Island and then jumping in a boat from there method, or if they've added extra protections. The Starfish Island one probably isn't looking good since it meant jumping on the top of and over the invisible barrier that was low at one side of the gates and that could easily be fixed or just not happen to be made the same way.

I could never get any of the glitching through stuff ones to work, not on PS2 or Xbox. Jumping the water into the golf course with an ambulance or climbing round the gate on Starfish Island and then stealing a police boat/random boat is where it's at. 

 

Has anyone who's gone to the second island early tried buying property and saving there?

Not sure if this is the right thread for this but bad news for Platinum hunters. You can no longer cheese the Godfather trophy by using the Sea Sparrow + Packer strat. The bullets now count towards Bullets Fired.

I like the new and updated graphics a lot, and I'm not even going "kind of" with that. And I'm hardly the only one.

It's just a goddamn shame that
1. They removed the original games from stores

2. They killed major mods (presumably so that this will sell instead)

3. The released games are buggy

4. The launch on PC has been a complete sh*tshow

One thing I'll say about these remasters is they've got me really excited to play the originals again. I played Vice City relatively recently but I definitely want to complete it again, and I've ordered an old copy of SA that I'll give myself for Christmas. Realised I haven't played it for 12 years now! And maybe III again, although I'm not the biggest fan of it. Didn't want to post in the praise topic as it would be mean spirited lol, but it is a good side effect.

I haven't played VC in many years despite it being my first 3D GTA all those years ago, and this remaster is why I'm giving it another shot again   

And it's been a lot of fun so far 
I'm just hoping I won't run into some of those game breaking bugs that have been reported  
These bugs are sadly putting a damnper on what should've been a nice trip through memory lane

If you can find it re3/reVC is definitely the way to go to play 3 and VC. Sadly it was killed before its time but it's still solid...and you know what, I'll plug it at any opportunity because f*ck Take Two.
