And there's exactly one good investigative journalist out there: Jason Schreier, works for Bloomberg now.

Oh, i actually didn't know about this, interesting. But afaik VCS and IV was in development at the same time, so yeah.. Still weird but ok, at least it's not a direct copy of the HD asset.

I aint saying IGN is good, but if they were on the take in one way or another it wouldn't be long before it came out. There's also many other big and established review outlets like GameInformer, Gamespot, Kotaku, Eurogamer, PC Gamer, RPS, Polygon etc etc.

 

And yea, Schreier works for Bloomberg who aren't known for game reviews, if they do them at all, so he'd be under zero pressure to keep any such story related to bribed game reviews under wraps.

On that topic, they decided to slap a NOOSE decal on the front of the air force base, even though NOOSE was only introduced in the HD games as a parody of SWAT, which are portrayed in the 3D games along with the FBI (which got replaced by FIB). Not to mention the general weirdness of a federal agency having its logo plastered around an army base.

Whether they have it or not appears to be random. Seems there's some system in place that randomizes ped looks and accessories.
