I never played a Souls game or Sekiro and this is definitely not the type of game that interest me mainly due to the difficulty but this game has taken over my Tik Tok feed to the point where I feel like I just HAVE to try it.

Of course this is coming from someone that had to turn the difficulty of God of War down to easy.

If you do pull the trigger, if possible purchase it on platform that supports refunds because if these games have never been for you in the past there's a good chance they still aren't for you now.

It's not for me but I've been watching a ton of it, been enjoying watching people explore the world and piece together the lore, but gameplay wise it's a Souls game and while it's the most accessible Souls game yet you've still got to enjoy a Souls game for ER to click with you.

Quick question:

Spoiler

Don’t know if this needed a spoiler.

If you’re holding a shield with an ability is it still possible to activate your ashes of war ability from your primary weapon while you’re holding the shield?

Quite some important changes related to NPCs' questlines and balancing.

>Blood Self and Hoarfrost nerfed

I expect rivers of tears kek

They also nerfed damage of sword of night and flame skill as well.  Which is huge that thing was op early game.

Maaaaan!

Spoiler

This Divine tower of Caelid is some bullsh*t.  I’m not even going to bother activating the Rune

Is this The Guy?

Been playing for a little over a week now and Im absolutely addicted to this game and so glad I got.

As far as the frustration goes I guess going into this game knowing that it’s going to be really difficult has kind of eased the pressure a little bit because I find myself actually less frustrated playing this than I do other games.

Bosses are tough as all f*ck but not impossible and their designs are incredible.  Im enjoying being able to adapt and learn different enemy attacks and patterns and learning from my mistakes and it has made finally defeating bosses that much more satisfying.  If anything I’m having way more problems getting killed by ambushes.

And the game is HUGE, holy sh*t.  I’m not just talking about the world but the character building, gear, abilities, items, etc there’s just a lot of sh*t to do and chose from.  Kind of overwhelming at first but once you start playing and learning more it gets more clear on what you can do and makes building your character that much more deep.

Depends on how and where you're holding it.

If you're holding the shield on your left hand and you want to use the ash of war of the right hand's weapon, your shield needs to have "No skill".

Something like this

12 million copies sold is one hell of an achievement.

Some technical shortcomings on PC aside, it is nice to see a game that ultimately treats the buyer with respect sell bucket loads meanwhile games with a sh*t ton of mtx shoved down its throat can't shift half that.

Hoping some big publishers are taking note that a good, quality game with no bullsh*t will sell.

I'm considering getting this game, I had Dark Souls on my steam wishlist  from Bandai Namco in the past, but thought it be just another darksiders rip off and never purchased any of the dark Souls games, plus at the same time The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim was out when Dark souls was out and skyrim won me over!..

This Elden Ring might be a good   hold over  tell the next Elder Scrolls  is released, but unsure about paying $79.99 to $99 for deluxe is worth it

I'd say it's one of the few games that's worth its full price. Maybe give it a try with a pirate copy and see if it's your thing, then consider buying it if you like it

It really depends on what you want. I've seen a fair few people pick it up expecting a sort of Elder Scrolls type game only to be disappointed very quickly, as it's not that type of game.

Purchase on a platform with a refund policy would be my advice, can't lose out that way.

I'll wait in tell a steam sale comes around and buy it eventually when it's on sale, I have a lot of games to  get through  that are waiting for play I don't do piracy anymore,  ruin's your PC

I would say go for Steam purchase. I think it's like less than two hours of playtime before you can request a refund.

That being said, there's been the odd time where it's been well over two hours, saying that it's a gameplay or technical issue upon request. :p

the metacritic  score makes it all more tempting to get, the elder scrolls skyrim  doesn't even have as high a score and it's a awesome game at  74 metacritic score, I'll always want to play skyrim

Skyrim's metascore is high as f*ck on it's original platforms, the rerereremasters might have docked it for stuff here and there.

I do need to stress though if you've never played a From game before and as you keep mentioning Elder Scrolls, if you want a ES type experience Elden Ring isn't it - it's absolutely worth a try but again yea, Steam would be a good pick cause you can refund it if it's not for you.

@Craigsters Yeah don't buy it thinking it will be like Skyrim or any Elder Scrolls game, you'll likely end up refunding it after a while. I'm holding out til Starfield.

Having only play Bloodborne and Dark Souls briefly my experience with the Souls type games is minor, but I’ve eyed this game since release and heard nothing, but good things about it so thought I’d take the plunge.

Spent the first 40 minutes or so getting used to the controls and got to Limgave (I think that’s what it’s called) and no I wasn’t stupid to try and fight the huge golden knight guy, but that doesn’t mean I still didn’t get wrecked from venturing lol.

I can feel the pain already, but my body is ready to “git gud”.😛

I killed the guy at the Warmaster Shack since I wanted his armor. Found out I locked myself out of the Volcano Manor questline by that. 😭

Can I still get there and also kill the snake boss or is this blocked until NG+? Just wondering if someone already did that and knows more.

Yes of course, no shardbearer is missable. Without spoiling too much, you can get to Rykard simply by completing the Volcano Manor's legacy dungeon.

these are the set's I like so far

I just watched 3 trailers from youtube and the Overview Trailer for the Elden Ring was awesome, the trailer showed the trait's or path's you can choose and all the armor and weapons, and all the gear looked awesome, I may pick this up at full price from Steam at the end  of the month, I was so impressed with all the trailers for the game

Definitely worth it!  I need to pick this game up again for my PS5 since I haven’t played since June.

I learned that there are scroll messages with hints and spoilers on the ground and the only way to avoid then is to play offline, the other day these scrolls messages  that   seemed to be placed every few feet and  sometimes  a   pile of them, and you  can like them like  they do at social media  sites!..

I don't plan on playing online with others ever, so I might consider  using the offline setting if it doesn't ruin or stop achievements

Miquella!  Was hoping it would it either be based around Miquella or Godwyn, well, could be both.

Cant wait. Think I got two characters with over 400 hours each I played this so much so ill more than likely start again before the dlc comes out.
