Carl_Speed YT
Hey everyone. I'm back. So i played gta 1 now. I installed it from the rockstar classics website. The problem is. When i load any chapter. When i'm not on a car cop sounds are played. I'm using the rockstar classics version not the max pack. And i don't know what's causing this one. It just works fine except cop sounds are played. When on foot. They said that the steam/rockstar classics release has the audio files named wrong! But that doesn't seem to be the case right? That’s exactly the case. In fact, many of the tracks are incorrect. The original 1997 release has the tracks in the correct order. You can fix it by renaming files. I’ll post the correct track listing later. ThermalSmoke

The audio rip of my GTA 1 CD has the audio files in the exact same order, so it's the game itself. Try this to fix the problem: http://gtamp.com/GTA1/GTAFixer.rar Carl_Speed YT

It stopped the cop sounds but the problem is the radio stations on some cars sometimes being cut off

The updated version of GTA 1 is buggy anyway. If you haven't got very far then I'd recommend doing one of two things: Download the Max Pack and play it there. If you have a CD or DVD drive, buy it on disc (not the Classics Collection version). This will be the original 1997 release, which doesn't have the bugs that the updated version does. There are only two issues. First, your save from the updated version won't work with it. Second, it plays music from the CD, so the CD will have to be inserted at all times. If that makes sense. Using GTAFIXER and MSS32.DLL can fix the game music. I'm also using DGVoodoo2 for better resolution
