Guest
Currently liveries are images that you can layer over the main paint of vehicles to add design. These images range from numbers, words, stripes to full artwork. I think R* should introduce a new type of livery that would bring more uniqueness to our creations. They are... COLOR LIVERIES - Most liveries are images but there are some that are mostly just color and seem to smoothly blend in with the base paint instead. This blend creates unique colors not possible in LSC or by changing the crew color. I think R* should make these type liveries a thing. In other words make some of the liveries simple opaque colors so they can be layered over the base color to create unique blends. One cool and unique result is reverse pearl (where base color is light and highlights are dark instead). TEXTURE LIVERIES - Things like bowling ball swirls designs, colors that fade from one color to another, crystal flakes or even a livery that looks like encrusted diamonds. Thoughts? —TheSquid—
Not a bad idea. I don’t know if that would actually work in-game, but I certainly like the idea of basically having wraps and custom paint jobs.
Standard Deluxe 59
Yeah this would be pretty cool. It would be nice to be able to put metal flake style paints on my lowrider style cars rather than just standard pearlescents.

There are a lot of liveries currently in-game that have these effects in some way or another.

I think we’d have to wait for E&E to see it executed in a way that doesn’t suck ass though. The current textures in the game are awful and wouldn’t do justice to some of the different styles of paint jobs. I mean look at some of those horrifically pixellated liveries we have right now. KiTTYReCkless
I want a diamond camo for the gold Luxor. Hate myself for buying the damn thing but a diamond jet would be 10 mil well spent. On a plus diamond camo should deflect homing missiles lol Edited November 7, 2021 by KiTTYReCkless SummerFreeze
JustinR512
The problem with a color livery, whose point is to make the car appear to be that color, is we would still be limited by the color liveries they choose to put in the game. I would rather see the entire body painting system be revamped and updated. It’s fine to have a selection of predefined colors, but I’d like to see an in-game way to pick ANY color, whether by inputting RGB or by picking from a palette (or have both methods available). Similar to what one can do with crew colors on social club, except (a) not limited to being in a crew, or having to make your own crew to have custom colors just for yourself whenever you want, and (b) in game, where you can see what it looks like on the car as you adjust the color. Furthermore, about textures, I’d rather have a “finish” option in LSC. This would let you pick the finish for your car’s paint, doing basically the same thing that textures do. You could have high-gloss, low-gloss, matte, satin, etc., and these would be selectable in the game. It would also be nice to be able to set the strength, or perhaps intensity is another way of saying it, of the pearlescent. It could be barely noticeable, or quite strong. What you'd rather see sounds good but aint happen no time soon while R* adds liveries all the time hence why I'm asking for liveries. Maybe you should post your idea in a wishlist topic for GTA 6 and add a few ideas here for liveries.

Maybe you should post your idea in a wishlist topic for GTA 6 and add a few ideas here for liveries. Rockstar seems to include liveries with newer cars more often than not these days, but they’ve only added liveries to existing cars a handful of times, far from “all the time”. It’s certainly true that it’s a practical certainty that Rockstar won’t revamp the car painting system for GTA V, but it’s equally certain that they’re not going to develop liveries for all the existing cars. We can hope for whatever changes we think make the most sense, but rationally we must acknowledge that neither is likely. If they implement this livery system, that’d be great, but I’ll continue to point out that the end result, the choices we have in the game, is far too limited compared to what’s possible in many other car games. SummerFreeze
I'd like to see liveries with cutouts that are filled by primary and secondary color. I'm not so sure... transparency is possible but other than that the livery colors take on the texture of the underlying color.
