How much gold and RDO$ is needed to buy EVERYTHING? (Blood Money update)

Recommended Posts

I have a bunch of money due to reasons convenient for this post and I'm ready to put it all into microtransactions, but I don't wanna overspend since that'd be stupid.

Anyway, does anyone know/have kept check of just how much is needed to buy everything? I did try to look for it but aside obvious meme-answers I couldn't find much. I'm talking clothes, weapons, ability cards, camp upgrades, roles, etc. The stats from someone who has bought everything to this day would be helpful. Everything that is purchasable and permanent.

Hear me out...

Don't buy into microtransactions, and I'm saying that because you'll be shooting yourself in the foot, especially when it comes to playing RDO. Sure, you'll own everything - BUT, after that? You'll have nothing to do. No reason or incentive to grind and unlock anything. You'll own everything, realize that there is nothing to do in this barren game and stop playing, only to realize that you have wasted your money. Please don't put your 'bunch of money' into microtransactions and put it into something else more useful and beneficial for you.

instead of throwing your money away and get next to NOTHING in return - give it to a homeless person. they'll probably spend it on food and/or drugs - at least they'll get SOMETHING out of it.

PS: not sayin that the homeless person is going to "waste" your charity, but who knows, maybe they'll buy a lottery-ticket and win millions, you could really change their life.

Lol!

If there's any truth to this thread, certainly highlights why RDRO is in the sh*tter.

Seems like a bit of a pointless goal. I think you're going to struggle to achieve it anyway so before you start throwing money at this think about it carefully. There are plenty of limited edition items that you might have to wait around a very long time to get (and some may not come back on sale like some of the old outlaw pass items). Some things back on sale occasionally but you'll have to check frequently because it's usually just for a week or two. Because of the limited items I'm not sure how you're going to know when you have bought absolutely everything unless you can find a complete list and check things off as you buy them. I think to achieve this you're going to be spending most of your time trawling through lists of items and keeping your own checklist and no time actually playing the game. How about collecting stamps instead?

It's your money, do with it whatever you like.

I'd advise against it for the reasons given above, especially because you won't have much incentive to play afterwards unless there is a part of the game you still enjoy for it's own sake, and I don't approve of the microtransaction business model on principal.

Classique has provided us with lists of the pass items here:

Some of these items have yet to be re-released, some have been reissued but may not be available again.

I doubt anyone will be able to get absolutely everything, and if they can it will take a lot of patience if that's the goal.

As far as buying everything that is available right now, you'd probably need $250,000-350,000?????

I've only bought what I like or what I needed, or what was available until I could unlock better stuff (horses/guns/etc.) and have spent just under $173,000 and 787 gold according to my social club page.

That's perhaps 25% of everything in regards to clothes, guns. I do have all the roles & upgrades, all cards though some stuff was free from previous pass rewards.

Currently I have over $400,000 and 3400 gold, I don't have any need for more money so I just play because I enjoy parts of the game as it is.

Again, I really do not recommend buying everything available with real money.

If you like the game enough to play it, perhaps buy what you need to not feel like there's still a grind ahead of you.

If you don't like the game enough to play it to progress, then I'd ask why you want to spend money on a game you don't really like that much?

That's a point, having seen @kcole4001's numbers above.

Can everything that costs money be bought with gold? As if not, regardless of how much gold one buys, they'd not be able to just jump on an buy without making progress and earning in-game cash.

Just taken a look at the prices of a few random things and it seem like 1 gold bar is worth about the same as $24. If that's true and taking the estimate from above ($250,000 to $350,000 to get everything) then it would cost you between £2670 and £3690 in real money to buy everything.

For those who are interested, the conversion rate from RDO dollars to UK pounds is about 100:1. So $100 in-game money would cost you £1 in real money.

I also must add that there is a Rockstar Emblem Buckle in the game files as well, which is exclusive for developer accounts.

Unless you have a "unlock all dat good sh*t"-button on PC with a menu, it's barely impossible to obtain every single item in the game.

According to my account, I have spent over 4530 gold bars and about 500k dollars.  I am pretty sure this is wrong, but its a good guess as to how much gold you would need. I own pretty much everything in the game.  I have bought a few gold bar only horses multiple times.  Its pretty much impossible to own everything.  I mean you cannot own a version of every horse or saddle.  Also, you can get check marks on the saddles for all the items stirrups, blankets, saddle bags etc.  I have yet to do this simply because they may introduce a saddle that is way better that nagodoches at some point and the would be a huge pointless money sink to own every saddle bag.  I may do it one day.  My best guess for gold only items is around $1200 dollars would get you every gold based item.  My calculation would be 4530/350=12.9*100=1294.  I never by items that can be bought for cash with gold, so that gold spent should be fairly close.  I do not have every gun gold plated only about 60% of my guns are gold plated.   If you were trying to do that to buy all items with just gold, you would need to add the entire catalog and divide by 25.  And then covert it that number to actual dollars.  My guess its probably around an additional 5k to buy every item in gold with gold purchased from the store.  It should be noted that ability cards cannot be bought with gold there may be other items that simply cannot be bought with gold.  I think most can.  Do it!

I really wasn't expecting this to turn into a debate about why one shouldn't spend real money on microtransactions. I thought the "I'm getting a bunch of gold out of nowhere" was implying something else, but I phrased it poorly, I guess. Thanks for the concerns, tho.

So the numbers I see definetly go past $150,000 and 500 gold bars, possibly even being twice as much. The reason why I ask is because I have two accounts (so two chars. male and female) and I just want to do things legit on one while the other gets a "boost", but I don't want to the GTAO route where I end up with hundreds of millions more than I needed after buying everything, just about 80% so I can get the rest through normal gameplay.

What if you compromised into mini transactions and bought gold when you had a hankering? Or, refill it to 100 gold every time you run out, or something?

By the way, save many thousands RDO when you stock up on provision maximums such as liquor by waiting for a sale! HUGE savings on the max buys! We could go on a coupon addict show!

Save further thousands and simplify your wardrobe by avoid buying clothes you don't want! I doubt I own 10% of the total clothes and yet, wish I could throw half out so my wardrobe was not full of crap!

To your capitalist frenzy! *clink*

I think you'll find most of the concerns were about the fact that it's unlikely you can buy everything even if you had hundreds of thousands to spend on it. Some items are limited and some may never be available again. So you could throw loads of money at something that you cannot finish.

I'm curious though. Do you have £3000 that you are prepared to spend on a game?

Very interesting - are there any more exclusives?

Ahh, my mistake. Sorry for that.

Good luck and enjoy. But as others said, keep an eye on the weekly changes in case time limited items return. :)

Hey, when you're dope sick a dub is not money wasted.😐

With that said, Don't do drugs OP. However I would love some charity? 🤲 Gold is temporary. My bliss is eternal.

yeah, i'm living off coupons, but seeing things like arthur's outfit at 52 gold bars made me curious about how expensive sh*t could get

The thing is the outfit was free with whichever pass it came in. The pass cost 25 gold which you got back if you finished the pass, and the short passes are pretty easy to finish if you play the game any amount, so really the outfit was free just for playing.

Then later the outfit was on sale for 50% off if I remember correctly. Also 52 gold for an outfit is just stupid even if you have more gold than you can spend, I guess they're counting on people loving the single player game so much they want to continue being Arthur in online.

That was the most expensive thing in the game so far with regards to cost versus what you get, especially since it was free for many players.

If we could gift stuff to other players that would be a simple fix, I have tons of crap I don't like, don't need, and will never use, but doing so would undermine their gold sales strategy, such as it is.

If they gave us stuff worth buying many more players would buy gold bars and those of us with plenty would quickly spend what we have.

For example (without even discussing properties & customisations) if we could buy a second character slot with gold I'm positive many would do so, I would just for the variety of it: have one character with everything and the other living minimally.

After GTA:O, I'm always cautious of how far R* will push it. Things haven't been too bad, and certainly earlier in the game where daily challenges played twice what they do now.

If it's just the odd item or cosmetics, it'd not be too bad. Plus for many who have played plenty over the years and built up a healthy stash, having some things to buy is likely welcome. But like you, I'm curious how things go. Hopefully R* keep things a bit more balanced/reasonable.
