Talus
I have a GF4Ti4600 and smoke grenades do a REAL number on my machine for some reason...always have. FPS drop from superbly great to a slide show the moment the smoke hits the screen. If I turn around so the smoke is behind me, all is well. Any tips? All drivers are up to date (and I'm not using the new beta SBAudigy drivers...they messed me up big time) Windows XP Pro AMD XP 2000+ 512 MB PC2700 MSI KT3 Ultra/VIA KT333 VisionTek GF4Ti4600 SBAudigy
me_killa
Same thing happens with my machine. Just when they storm the place retreat back to the doorway and chill there by the edge and try to pick off the cops one by one, then when you get the last one walk to the pink dot and your outside. I wish that they had not done this or else this would have been a great level.
Talus
Yeah, I did manage to get through the level no thanks to the chopiness...but man, it's annoying to have your nice rig slow to a crawl
BroDan
I take it you 2 DID NOT have it on Ps2, if you did you would know the smoke is MEANT to slow the game down, its the effect and its cool. Still alive, lurking in the shadows. BF3 Profile
me_killa
It is not cool, it is sh*tty to have a game slow down to 5-10 fps when it is not intended to. If it was, it would go in slow motion and you would still get 30-60 fps.
The Evil One
I noticed this slow down as well but it was still playable. I do have a high spec machine so maybe some slowdown is intentional, it maybe simulates the way tear gas hampers your progress.
spear33
Maybe turning down the graphics is a way to tell if it was meant to be like that.
