Why should only the whiners get an echo chamber? Us R* shills deserve one too.

So, what do you like out of what you have seen so far and what are you looking forward to?

I think the new lighting looks really impressive and i'm pretty excited to see what The entire Las Venturas Strip looks like at night.

Environments don't look too bad, if not overly much of an upgrade from the originals. I really like the addition of parallax interiors and some of the extra details are neat.

- I unironically really like GTA 3's presentation. One user negatively compared it to Jimmy Neutron, and another compared it to Pixar, but truth be told I like that sort of art direction. GTA 3 takes place in 2001 and 3D animation was a huge thing back then, so it makes sense that they went with that style. Overall, I think it's meant to appeal to early 00s nostalgia kids, while maintaining the dark/cold autumn vibe of the original.

- The models look way better. Maybe the textures could use work, but they look a lot better.

- The work done on the buildings is nothing short of impressive. It's nice to see these plain rectangles have intricate detail now.

- The lighting kicks ass.

- The skybox is impressive. Vice City gives off a stronger Miami vibe with the way it's been implemented.

- Aside from a few hiccups, the new firearm models are planets ahead of the originals.

- The foliage is sexy as hell.

- Ped clumping has been fixed and we may get more peds overall.

- It looks cartoony. This is the way the 3D Universe games are supposed to be, especially with the balls to the walls satire. It also helps contrast the otherwise dark themes and violence. Finally, it's a reprieve from the ultra realistic direction of Red Dead Redemption 2, Watch Dogs 2, or Mafia: Definitive Edition.

My expectations were that the game would look like something released after 2010. Overall I'm quite happy with the work done.

Honestly, being plug and play is probably one of the best things (especially for the average casual).

I like to mod SA but screw modding III and Vice City.

I mean, in general modding has gotten easier lately, but it's just too much hassle finding proper mods that fix the map and stuff.

Most of which aren't updated in the OP and you need to go through 57 pages in GTAF to look for updates. Worst case scenario the link is dead or not indexed anywhere :l

Also, 60FPS working is another big deal. To this day no mod can fix these issues 100% so yeah.

I'm also excited about other unmentioned things which at this point we'll probably only discover while playing.
_
Besides all that, I think I have already seen all of the good stuff that others have mentioned.

Being a completionist achievements/trophies wise each of the game's lists will mean I'll do something my younger self didn't/never considered and get 100% in all 3 games.

As long as it retains the bulk of the original experience this trilogy will still be better than all but a handful of non R* open-world games released between the originals and this.

Whether that's a praise for the trilogy or a jab at open world games in general though I'm not sure.

I always wanted a gaming PC specifically for mods for games like fire pro, street fighter and gta.

I bought gta v and modded the sh*t out of it and played it a second time. I very much enjoyed that experience.

I love watching YouTube videos with the mods to the trilogy but something always looked off. It was like the games weren't supposed to look that way and although they were ultra HD and pretty, it just felt weird.

Now with the definitive edition it looks how I dreamed it would look! That's what it looked like to my virgin eyes as a teen!

The graphics aren't even the half. I'll be able to stream the game on twitch, gta v controls and I already have the week off for my birthday.

It's so beautiful, all of it!

Imagine securing the map for Grove street in gta v controls!

I'm most excited to play gta3 and gtavc as I never finished those games as a kid and if I did I was way to high on Mary Jane to remember.

My appreciation for music has matured from those days too so the soundtrack is going to get more love.

Finally, as an adult...I understand it's satire. It's the real world pushed to an extreme to make the player think and provide a social commentary.

I can't wait to replay these games as an adult, with my adult eyes.

I'm super duper excited and then to add to all of that...

I'm sure modders are going to mod the f*ck out of this title! That makes me so happy to finally have my PC.

What a world

I must be one of the few people who don’t really have any major issues with Claude, Tommy and CJ look.

I know the “An Old Friend” screenshot has become a meme at this point, but when I’m looking at side by side shots of new and old Tommy I’m starting to notice he still looks Tommy.

As I said in the main thread I think his darker skin tone accentuates his Italian heritage in a similar way to how Ubisoft slightly darken Ezio’s skin in the Assasssin’s Creed Ezio Collection since he’s also Italian.

When it comes to Claude and CJ I actually prefer them to their original models. I was never a big fan of CJ’s original look as he looked a bit ugly with an egg head and he looked too innocent.

Now he even looks a bit older and doesn’t look so naive and innocent like a little boy. It’s not a huge change, but it’s just enough to where it feels like I might be able to take CJ seriously now.

Claude’s old squinty eyes look kinda ridiculous when I see the new and old Claude side by side. He still looks like a stone cold killer, but once again like CJ the changes made are small yet effective at least to me.

Overall I think the redesigns are really good and I appreciate that GSG tried to do something different without going as extreme as some redesigns like Dante in DMC: Devil May Cry. However this is only my opinion, but I’m probably in the minority anyway who seems to like them pretty much equally so yeah.

When it comes to everything else. Love it. All the locations we’ve seen look absolutely amazing. Ocean Drive at night with all those lit neons makes my mouth water.

I am excited about these 3 games. Remembered I used to play them very frequently (alongside Simpsons Hit and Run) in the mid-2000s on my first PC.
I hope that there are some features or gameplay enhancements in the Trilogy DE.

Things I would love to see (apart from the already confirmed enhancements on the website):

GTA 3:

- Character models for the Forelli members

- Cover system

- More music! (I don't mind if they add the GTA 1 and 2 music in as well)

- Make Kenji's missions a prerequisite to unlocking Donald Love's missions (for the purpose of 100% completion)

- Perhaps update Toni Cipriani's character model to strike a fine balance between LCS Toni and III Toni.

- Update Catalina's model for the same reason as Toni above (balance between SA and III).

GTA VC:

- Renew almost all music licenses, please! I'm sure we wanna hear Billie Jean again first time we enter an Admiral or Faggio.

- Implement swimming ability. (This can drastically change the way we approach some missions)

- Update Vic Vance's character model in the intro cutscene.

- Make interiors accessible, perhaps (Ken's office, V-Rock, Love Fist concert hall, Print Works)
- Character models for the Vice City Triads (as mentioned by Kent Paul in the Spilling the Beans mission)

GTA SA:

- Fully rendered Portland or LC in Saint Mark's Bistro mission.

- Renew almost all music licenses (like in VC). Add new music if possible. Wouldn't mind a Non Stop Pop FM in 1992.

- Clear distinction between GSF, SBF and TDF (gangs that CJ can recruit). For example, TDF members wear more gold on their outfits?

- Clear distinction between the Leones, Forellis, Sindaccos and the Russian mafia.

These are just my opinions. I don't think all of them will materialize, but here's hoping that some do.

I'm glad they are implementing GTA V-style controls. I wouldn't buy it if all the did was make the games look prettier.

I'd be happy with the smallest of all changes. For GTA3 you should be able to bail out of vehicles. And for VC you should be able to swim. San Andreas is perfect as is. No changes needed. :)

Yea tbh the perfect scenario would be for the mechanics of 3/VC to be updated to San Andreas standard. Not in terms of features, but the core mechanics like the camera, gunplay etc. They really had it nailed by the time SA came around.

For me the worst thing about these games when going back to them are the shooting/aiming mechanics so I'm glad that's being looked into. Of course we don't know yet how much they've been improved, but it still puts my mind at ease. I can look beyond strange character models (Which lets be honest most 3D era character models have always looked a bit weird), but not wonky shooting/aiming since it pretty much makes up the bulk of core gameplay.

Also things like waypoints, being able to restart failed missions etc which are pretty commonplace now will make playing these gameplay so much more enjoyable IMO. You'll still have that classic gameplay they're known for, but with a more modern facelift. Even as someone who's been a fan of the series since like 1998 I'm looking forward to seeing these games getting a new lease on life that may bring in new fans or maybe fans who haven't played them in a long time.

Sorry for the double post, but having played the games albeit for a short time since it’s late here in Australia what I have played has been impressive so far.

I tried all three and it’s a different experience than watching YouTube videos or viewing screenshots IMO. In performance mode on PS5 these games are so buttery smooth.

I got the chance to try out the shooting and it’s pretty much everything I was hoping. It feels so much better with GTA V’s controls.

I’m surprised by the release as I thought  we’d be playing it on Friday. I guess it paid to stay up a bit later.😛
