orcdog
Looks like in discussions about DE most people forget remakes were made by Grove Street Games. Take2 own GTA rights so they didnt even need permissions etc. Was Rockstar involved at all(development, not marketing etc)?
Smocaine
I heard that they "helped out" but i'm not sure where this info is coming from. I can imagine that some help was required by people who know how the old games work since they probably had to rewrite a lot of code.
Spider-Vice
Hard to say. We'll have to wait to see the credits, but I imagine so, at the very least on the QA side as GSG are pretty small. IVCavalcade
This has been a point of discussion since the announcement, I'm just gonna copy over my comment about this from the other day because I believe it covers it quite well: Tbh nobody knows for sure at this point. Rockstar themselves have definitely communicated that it's GSG's project - they use the phrase 'adapted by GSG'. So based on what we've been told, it is a fully outsourced project. But many people here speculate that in-house Rockstar studios have been actively involved in development. If Rockstar's own studios are involved, they are doing their best to downplay their involvement. There's no evidence or reason to believe at this point that Rockstar have had any studios working on the game, so this theory is just speculation at this point. We will only know for sure when we see the credits. I personally believe it is 100% developed by GSG. The following 2 statements are all that Rockstar have said themselves in regards to the development studio: 1. From the newswire article published on 22nd Oct: 'Originally developed by Rockstar Games, Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition has been adapted to modern platforms by Grove Street Games using Unreal Engine to make these classics more vibrant and more immersive than ever' 2. From the product page on Rockstar's official website - 'Game Details > Developer 'Developer: Rockstar Games, adapted by Grove Street Games' Edited November 1, 2021 by Chazza354
