Badman_
Not trying to change anyone's opinion, but RAGE engine isn't exactly an unanimity, at least not the IV type. Many fans prefer the arcade approach, and maybe that's why they went with Unreal.

Euphoria is and the reason the definitive edition is on Unreal 4 is so it can be scaled to run on the Switch and mobile devices. Badman_

LotusRIP
What you were expecting was a remake, not a remaster. By definition, they have remastered these games to a high standard. They have delivered on what they promised - no laziness there at all. Maybe you should stop being lazy - where's your AAA best selling video game of all time?? What would've been lazy is porting the PS2/XBOX versions over, touching them up slightly and calling it a day.

I thought R* is better than Ubisoft~ Many people just prove R* is not only never better than the other studios, but also LAZY than them~ Edited 15 hours ago by cnp12 After few day's observation, many people who comments here are pretty ignorance and unconcernedly. I MENTIONED so much and you just want to FOCUS ON GTA IV's physics??? Looks like keep SA No.1 popular and not allow III and VC share the same content is your priority. You just want to keep SA superior and make III and VC BORING than SA, also keep the character like ghost, not allow player to enter the main building and the building's interior which showed in cutscene, like past 20 years. You don't want to move forward, and just want to keep those unreasonable thing and mission which MAKE NO SENSE to REMAIN, JUST SAY IT.
Eternal Moonshine
Don't know about others but i call it lazy because it looks very, VERY rushed and unfinished. I'm not blind, i can see how much work was put into these remasters, but because i'm not blind i can also see how rough it all looks. But especially the characters. Claude's pants look like some intern was trying to learn how to create folds in zbrush. Tommy's all fat and crooked. Looks like he got kicked out of Fortnite. Avery genuinely looks like The Simpsons character. Joey and Misty... i'm not even going to comment on whatever the f*ck that was. An then you have the contrast between decent looking backgrounds, and aesthetically still very low poly, but rounded out characters like CJ in that shot from Wu Zi MU. It looks inconsistent and jarring. And CJ, despite being the best looking of the three protagonists, is wearing some low-res jeans, which makes things even worse because the trees in the background look crisp and detailed enough to invoke cognitive dissonance. Someone posted this picture in another thread, and this is exactly what i see when i look at these remasters. Making sure that everything looks consistent is game dev 101. Don't do that and you end up with that Unity asset flip look LaszloR1, Algonquin Assassin, NightmanCometh96 and 1 other 3

New engine, new characters, new shaders reflections (possibly volumetric clouds). It is a remake just a lazy one. 10 hours ago, LotusRIP said: By definition, they have remastered these games to a high standard. They have delivered on what they promised - no laziness there at all. There are some high points in the new releases, but that didn't hold out for everything. From the art style that somehow they couldn't agree on and made modern cartoony characters with old low poly building models with HD textures and reflections. They did what was easy. It was easier to use unreal default shaders than to make the lighting look like in the originals. 10 hours ago, LotusRIP said: Maybe you should stop being lazy - where's your AAA best selling video game of all time?? You underestimate what it takes to make a AAA studio. Even an indie studio is hard to make, but that doesn't excuse the fact that we shouldn't criticise something new put out by the holy almighty R*. Thomas Cavendish
Big billionaires companies in the game industry have just learned a really important lesson from Trilogy DE: When you intend to re-release a lazy generic amateur looking version of an old game at full price, just call it a remaster. They will accept anything. - wtf is this? - It's a remaster not a remake - wow awesome. I'll get one. cnp12, LaszloR1 and Eternal Moonshine 2

They never want to improve it like add the content been cut, just want to put another console especially on the mobile and switch, and milking it forever. If EA or Ubisoft doing like this, people just resist and refuse to purchase by nature reaction. Unfortunately, Rockstar has become a Cult and political faith, whatever they sell, people will just purchase it like religion follower, and not allow any criticism exist. I don’t see how they can be compared. GTA V expanded and enhanced doesn’t qualify as something worth purchasing atleast IMO it’s not so I won’t be buying it even if it’s heavily discounted a few months down the line. I’d even say it’s completely unnecessary due to GTA V’s relative recency and the fact it’s already had a couple console generations. Where the definitive edition is concerned people may not like certain aspects of what we’ve seen so far anyway, but it’s hard to deny they’ve taken a much bigger swing at it that makes GTA V expanded and enhanced look like a joke.
