Cyper
GTA 5 had more clothes than San Andreas - true - but there is a huge shortcoming to it. First, the game decides what clothes you can buy. Want to wear a cap? Well you can't, because your favorite character is Michael and he cannot wear that. So if you're playing as Michael about 2/3 of all clothing options is thrown out of the window. Want to choose your own style? Mix certain pants with certain shoes? You can't do that because all three characters has a set style and any deviation from their style is not possible. And this thinking doesn't just affect clothing options - and affects what garages you can and cannot buy, where your safehouse is, what tattoos and hairstyles you can have. Want to make Trevor look nice and clean? You can't because rockstar has decided it. San Andreas did have fewer clothing options, but there was more variety in terms of different clothing styles, and there was no restrictions on how you could or could not dress. And its just not the clothes. Sure, you've got races with Franklin, FRANKLIN, not Michael or Trevor because it ''doesn't fit their personality''. GTA 5 is constantly trying to dictate how your character should look and what he should do and not do. But the comment about Trevor is confusing me because you certainly can clean and dress him up. As soon as I get to the point where all three characters are rolling in money, I always dressed Trevor up in nice suits and gave him the cleanest hairstyles available to him. Granted the options ARE limited, you’re not wrong about that.
LostReacher
Yeah but what about the quality of all that content? More content opens up in GTAV as you play and it's better quality. Though if you want better SP quality I recommend RDR2, and online quality GTAO
Snesgamer83
SA has far superior map detail - to the point that to this day many still hold the misconception that SA's map is bigger than V's - not so, it is just designed and utilized THAT much better. SA still remains the only GTA that truly achieved the "multi-city" feel. Alongside Los Santos, both San Fierro and Las Venturas genuinely feel like complete cities that could be expanded and given their own GTA titles somewhere down the road. V's map, for being at least twice as big as SA's - only has Los Santos and much of the countryside feels wasted.

His safehouse is and will always be a trailer stained in sh*t, and the only hair cut that does not make him look like trailer trash is no haircut at all, e.i bald. Mz. Hazey
I always liked San Andreas the best. Not just because I happen to be a huge fan of 90’s G-Funk era of rap, but also the limitations felt endless. Once you beat GTA V and all the side missions the world felt very empty with nothing left to do. The illusion kind of dies then. Can’t say the same about San Andreas.
