Speccy
Have the following questions already been addressed in another thread? if not, let's discuss: - Will Rockstar fully redeem themselves by supporting the modding community and shipping Unreal Engine developer tools for the Trilogy? - Will Rockstar go out of their way to make editing the game files difficult/virtually impossible? - Will Rockstar promote mods or will they shut down the modding community entirely? A formal statement regarding the future of modding for the series would be good to prevent confusion. videotech_, Darkness22sar, M316 and 9 others 11
universetwisters
Probably no support for mods, realistically speaking. Even if official tools are released, they’ll probably be lacking greatly in comparison to what modders could do from scratch Dominik_, Davve95 and Bob Loblaw_
thalilmythos
I have this believe that Data files, like handling, weapons, ped stats, will be easily modifiable as they always were, but in regards to maps, models and scripts, that's where the question remains. videotech_
I have a feeling Rockstar will make modding a little harder for everyone with some sort of file encryption which will probably take ages to push through. We still can't even edit the files from RDR2 yet, which still remains a challenge for the OpenIV Team. But hopefully that's not going to be the case and fingers crossed it will be easier to mod. At the end of the day, the mods are going to keep these remasters alive for decades to come so if they're really crack down on modding, well it's a massive lose situation for them.
