I loved the atmosphere of LCS and the empire system of VCS and I'm really afraid that we'll never get a chance to play them again. Why does it always have to be 20 years? Let's not forget Xbox 360 got San Andreas remaster (mobile port) in 2014 which is 10 years after PS2 release. If GTA Trilogy sells well I think we could expect GTA LCS and VCS Remasters bundle in 2023. Also GTA San Andreas itself is only 17 years old next week. And GTA 4 remaster would be just porting PC version in 4K 60 fps to consoles, without changing engine or anything. It won't be that easy for IV, since most of its optimization problems were because of it, one being based on the console editions, and two the Euphoria physics we all love so much were dependent on heavy CPU calculations, especially at the time. Cant imagine they just remaster these 2 games out of blue(or with IV remaster etc), near trilogy release it makes sense. cuban gang member Posted October 23, 2021 Share Posted October 23, 2021 I don't think they will ever come because of three reasons: 1.They meant to be released for handheld consoles so they don't consider them as a main title gta game 2.less copies were sold 8 millions for LCS and 4.5 millions for VCS compared to gta III,vice city and san andreas with 17.5,20 and 27.5 millions. 3.They have limited fan base compared to the trilogy games,only gta fans and PSP fans even know the game exists. That only says untapped potential to me. Both games were PSP exclusive for a while and as a result they received very late PS2 ports, especially VCS hence the lower sales (those numbers are still amazing btw). They had a Prairie Cartel station in Chinatown wars but Homicide got removed in IV. It's still a very grey area honestly, especially with In The Air Tonight being Phil's signature song. Collibosher Posted October 25, 2021 Share Posted October 25, 2021 I'm a pessimist, so as the DE versions "erased" the original original trilogy commercially and canonically, the chances of LCS and VCS becoming available as new ports diminished. R* was not interested in reintroducing them to modern consoles back when it would've required less effort either, so if R* was suddenly more interested in re-releasing them now, they would "have to" see even more effort, as they would have to be remastered too. I hope I'm wrong, since I also think they're greatly underrated. If the DE trilogy sells well, tbh I can see it more likely that R* creates some sort of Fortnite inspired 3D era online -thing...
