GTA III Definitive Edition Analysis & Comparisons Topic

Another thing that I have spotted is the choice of the engine sound for the Yakuza Stinger, which seems like a Toyota MR2 W30. I know it can be some audio added during the video editing, but the choice seems really appropriate. When Claude jumps with the Stinger in the trailer, the engine sound seems really similar to the real one.

Holy f*ck this whole release looks so half baked... If there's this many glaring errors and inconsistencies in the few screenshots we have I can only imagine how bad some other parts of the game look. TBH I think they did alright with Claude's model, not much else. the more I look at Joey the weirder he gets.

I assume it's the same wheel as in GTA 5, so:

- Cluttered with unusable weapons

- Impossible to remember which key corresponds to which category and having to press them one by one. Then repeatedly hitting the same number to switch to a different weapon within that category.

- The key binding is also unhelpful, it was Z in my game. Not sure if it's a default control for the wheel, but having to take your eyes off the screen to search for the key every time you needed the wheel felt like a chore.

Mafia 3 had a weapons wheel, and I don't have anything bad to say about it. I have big problems with the GTA 5 weapons wheel.

GTAs 4 and 5 lacked ergonomics and intuitivity.

That all sounds like a you problem.

Haha, yeah, I had to crop it out.

It has to do with the older models, I guess, just too blocky. This is apparent on the Vinewood sign and Claude's car at the end of the trailer.

Actually, if I show the left side and the whole building, it looks more impressive as you can see a new reflection on these glass panes

It looks good.

It appears the Portland Bridge was slightly modified with the wires going slightly up on the bridge tower, I also believe the scale is much bigger than the original model. I think I like the new changes to the bridge, tbf

Changes:

  • More items on footpaths
  • Textures are far better
  • Shops have lights which reflect on the footpaths
  • Ladders added outside some shops on the first floor
  • Road and footpath edges are now smoother

Changes (will just say the changes from now instead of writing paragraphs lol)

  • Traffic lights completely remodelled with a reflective shader
  • New textures on buildings with new decals
  • Better GI on lighting
  • Train now features a bloom effect on the lights

Good comparison, I was looking for this exact one.

They should have added some interiors to the left and right buildings, looks weird without it. Reflections on these cars are a bit broken here, hope they fix that.

I think it is the same width, the middle part is reflecting the sunlight, it is still one main building.

Changes:

  • It looks like the posters were reworked under the Subway
  • New brick texturing under the subway
  • Much high-resolution pavements

Sadly couldn't find too much caused by the motion blur but I'm sure there are other changes

i always hated this building, thought it looked stupid being so tall yet so fat. It looks like they either made it taller to make it look skinnier, or adjusted both. Its not such an eyesore anymore

Stairs and houses are now more detailed and have lights:

Some shopfront signs were reworked, nice! The amount of effort that went into this is just f*cking unbelievable.

Text seems to be realigned too, most probably to make it more readable.

Texture UVs much improved and edges now smoother

EDIT: For some reason the traffic light is gone on the left road.

It also looks like Rockstar and GSG remodelled the building near the Subway, in the original there's a few textures extremely stretched out and just looks out of place... now it looks 100x better

YES! There's definitely parallax interiors. I was going through frame-by-frame till the lighting from the thunder started kicking in which gives us a little more clarity.
