I doubt that R* would run this on lower settings for trailer, not to mention their PC`s used for development must be using SSD`s either way. I think it's a builtin way to easily create these kind of objects instead of opening up 3DS Max and recreate every single file just in lower quality. Yes, it's faster but looks way worse. The only hope i have that this is a temporary solution, so it doesn't f*ck up with the retouched objects that have all these reflecting lights. I really like how the buildings now have proper emissive lighting, it makes the city feel much alive and less dead. It also seems the pavements were also completely reworked, overall it's a complete and night difference upgrade. Not really sure about that brick texture, however, that needs a little more work on the UVs.
