Claude was always visible in the train, in GTA III.

Anyway, I think this is the best comparison that summarizes my feeling on it. They brightened up the image and just saturated the game. Everything else is pretty much there. Details, hair, the same level of detail on the clothes. It just looks... jarring because now it's a lot brighter and more colourful. To see if my thought process was about right, I edited the screenshot to look more like the original (Although not perfect, as I'm no expert)

Cops could always crouch. This is not new.

I haven’t played GTA III in about 10 years. Literally forgot lol

Yeah he seems to wear a striped shirt instead of a checkered one. Though this thread is for GTA III.

Just like I had predicted:

  • We get GTA V's controls system. 
  • Weapon & Radio Station Wheels.
  • Mini Map

All these things aside, ability to restart missions is a welcome addition. Several of the III Era Mobile games had these features. No specific word on having 4K support for PC systems. NVIDIA GPU's get DLSS (Upscaling Graphics).

Damn, it could actually be more than 10 years since I’ve played III tbh.

The crouch animation was always present. It can be enabled for weapons via editing files. I've personally enabled the crouch on my mods before using CLEO and in-game scripts. Hopefully it'll be a default now.

I never knew. I always played the OG Trilogy on PS2. 😅

any game on pc supports 4k, even the original 2001 gta 3 you can play in 4k

I'm actually surprised how GTA3 turned out. It looks considerably better the other two (VC looks like an absolute sh*te), but GTA3 somehow looks the same, yet much prettier than before. Everything just fits the style of the game and the overall atmosphere. I'll go as far as saying that if the GTA3 definitive edition was released on its own I probably would have bought it. I'll go even further and say, that if GTA4 was released on Unity with the same visuals I probably would have bought it too. I'll go the furthest, and say that I'd probably buy them, even if they were download only and with the idiotic weapons wheel.

Looking at the idaho in the background it seems like the damage models of cars will be the same.

 

Also the police car just behind Claude, engine seems a little flat, no?

 

The reflections on the banshee are a bit strange. It looks glossy on the bonnet by matte on the sides, how gives? Only rained on top and sides are dry? :D

I assume it's the same wheel as in GTA 5, so:

- Cluttered with unusable weapons

- Impossible to remember which key corresponds to which category and having to press them one by one. Then repeatedly hitting the same number to switch to a different weapon within that category.

- The key binding is also unhelpful, it was Z in my game. Not sure if it's a default control for the wheel, but having to take your eyes off the screen to search for the key every time you needed the wheel felt like a chore.

 

Mafia 3 had a weapons wheel, and I don't have anything bad to say about it. I have big problems with the GTA 5 weapons wheel.

 

GTAs 4 and 5 lacked ergonomics and intuitivity.

i doubt it would work the same, for me it was binded to tab by default and i just used the scroll wheel to adjust for weapons in a category, but i think it will retain the "one weapon in each category"

on a side note, i find this road looks too nice and polished. Ive never seen a road so smooth with so little cracks in my life :kekw:

This would solve a lot of problem and frustration for me. I hope that's how they do it.

Of all the player characters from The Trilogy Devitive Edition, Claude looks the best. I love the rainy scene in the trailer. It looks really good. Despite the better graphics, I think the games will have the old flair of their first versions.

Visually, the new character models look greatly improved. But I feel like some people including me see these uncanny faces that do not quite match proportion wise.

As an OG member, I appreciate Rockstar for doing this. I can relive my childhood again!
I'm sure modders can alter the graphics and make it more fitting for some people

But imo, I do not mind these new graphics and style, it fits the classic aesthetic :)

Hello! Im new here some friends from  r/Trilogy recommend this thread to post some of my findings i foun on the images of GTA Trilogy DE screenshots and/or trailer...

 

so here im, pretty exited :)

 

1. GTA 4 Police Badge on gta 3 DE police cars.

The cars in that screenshot have the gta 4 badge and not the police badge used in the original gta 3 game.

imgur image - idk how to uplaod images on forum. lol

 

2. Some peds look like they changed a bit their clothes,

imgur link - with one ped from GTA SA DE (i saw that before on twitter) and the lady model from gta 3.

 

3. Looks like they added more peds color variations in games. (maybe they didnt change peds clothing as i said on 2.)

similar peds with different clothes, this wasnt in the original GTA 3

 

4. Looks like they improved the 3d models of chairs (hope they will do the same on E&E)

not my image but the chairs looks different in DE, better models

 

5. They removed the Phill confederate flag from his tank top

Phil tank top in DE and original game

 

6. 3D letters on hotels in gta VC DE

the DE version of GTA VC use 3d letters on hotels while the original used a 2d textures.

 

7. The Kaufman Cabs taxi in gta VC DE is based on the xbox version of kaufman cabs not the pc one.

on left the kaufman cabs taxi from pc game, and on right the DE trailer image based on xbox version of gta vc taxi.

 

--- minor foundings on the DE screenshots and/or trailer.

texture misplaced on traffic light pole,  looks like the texture is repetitive for some reason.

it really is the lighting then, holy sh*t. hopefully they give us an option to play with filters like gtav
