Me, since I spent about 6 hours in Blender trying to make a cool render to imagine what the place would look like with better and proper lighting. LMAO

RE: Tommy’s gut size - as far as I remember he wasn’t exactly trim, he had that typical average build. Maybe they’ve slightly overdone it just because of the shirt, Hawaiian shirts were oversized as a norm in the 80’s

He isn't malnourished CJ thin, but the idea that he had some massive gut that his shirt stuck to is something a teenager would say in a video essay to justify this sh*t. The shirt isn't glued to his body in the original because wind existed.

No vegetation in the screenshot but there is in the trailer. This gives me hope that there is more work left and that the trailer is actually improving on things.

I respect your opinion but the overall look is now definitely more HD or at least Fortnite-esque (is that a good or bad thing idk but it looks cleaner):

Sure it looks more HD..the original is 19 years old. They could have kept the original model but improved on it instead of getting rid of it in favour of this cartoon replacement who doesn't look badass or even Italian

They CHANGED the physical appearance of the character to the point where he is not recognisible anymore.  Imagine replacing Al Pacino in Scarface with some random mediterranean type. It's not the same movie anymore !!

Also notice, how in the remastered everything is always overly clean. The old bike model had somewhat darker/dirtier textures applied to them. I don't know what the motive was behind that back then, if they tried to mimic shadows or what, but it was a recognisible style of Vice City. It's gone now.

I think what I’m getting at requires further explanation and that’s my fault.

 

Because obviously the visual changes made to this upcoming release have been met with an abundance of criticism especially on here, the complaints tend to get lumped in together.  Saying the confederate flag being removed from Phil’s shirt is to the game’s detriment in the same breath as Tommy looks Indian, it’s disconcerting.   In the same way as saying the night lighting in Vice Beach looks bad in the same breath as saying as Tommy looks Indian—is looking Indian bad?  If maybe people articulated it as “Tommy doesn’t like he’s suppose to” I wouldn’t notice.  That’s all y’all.

Experience taught us that games which comes from Rockstar, will not be the same as  their trailers.

 

They even change the protagonist model after screenshots and trailers so hopefully there is still room of improvements.

 

Grove street games has half a month to fix bugs, changing models and etc
