The difference in the environment around Blueberry Acres (I love how lights inside buildings reflect on footpaths):

 

Before (modded game with 2DFX on):

File SM_minigun is removed and replaced with 2 new models:

SM_minigun2 & SM_minigun_barrel
So if you want, you can put a custom model on the minigun now :D

These logos still look upscaled, why... sigh. It's good they're being corrected but the the other words still look like paintings.

With a few of the shops signs I think the quality is intentionally bad. Remember in the early 90s the process of creating a store sign was much different so it often came out looking different.

 

Though a few shop signs and such are still weird looking.

^ those are examples how good this game could look if GSG used the OG version with all those OG effects and fog. Imagine having the PS2 or Xbox version as base version, combined with all those foliage and texture improvements. That's how the remaster should have looked like.

This is from the DE version without mods btw, just saying in case you got the wrong impression.

@SquoniX Yes, I see that. That's why I've written that. You see Bone County in the background (too high draw distance), fog is not really dense, etc...

 

So much potential. If R* won't fix this, hopefully modders will restore the OG atmosphere and OG effects on PC. But then again, it's still the mobile port...

It could very well be possible. When the Android version of SA was ported over to PS Vita earlier this year, the developers were actually able to restore the PS2 lighting (and disable the gloss over character models). It makes that port look much better than stock PS3/360/mobile:

However, I’m not getting my hopes up for the DE. I just don't think GSG is willing to go above and beyond with these games aside from improving the performance and fixing the more notorious bugs/oversights/textures/etc. It would be really nice, though.

They've added hydraulics to the Sandking, so you can jack it way up, not an unwelcome addition,  but an odd one

A few bugs from the original release were actually resolved in the last patch, and Rockstar appears to be assisting Grove Street Games in this, so I have cautious optimism.

The countryside for the most part looks amazing, it brings back the "road trip" feel.

 

But I digress a bit on the OG fog; I tried the fog distance mod and I didn't like the look of it too much; it made it look like there was a constant wildfire across the map. If that's what was going on during the limited QA, I sort of understand why they may not have gone with the distance fog; it may not have looked to good with the new engine. Hopefully R* is working to address this issue further.

I just now played the new patch but i noticed something. Is it me or did the Tank Top actually change now since they added new torso's for CJ, Fat/Muscle, etc.
