EDIT: All characters look good to be fair. This is a good shot!

I speculate that CJ's pants were upscaled as to not make a new one that wouldn't look as similar? I have no idea.

That's not proven until we see CJ walk through a door. These window can be and probably are just an effect like in Spider-Man.

It still adds a lot to the environment IMO though. Kinda looks like they at least customised the parallax stuff to look relevant to each building instead of a static reused texture. I have a feeling interiors are going to be something like, you go through the door and stuff is culled/despawns outside, a la GTA VC but without a fade in/out.

Seems so! There's definitely something pretty different there, but it's hard to get a good comparison on the original because of poor draw distance and the massive street sign in front of it.

 

Something much closer without the fog taken from that side though:

At first I wondered if the light behind the bottle was the "Ten Green Bottles" text (you can see it glowing behind the bottle in my screenshot here) but It's not exactly shaped like signage :p

 

Edit:

Might be a long shot but there's this "Liquor" sign behind the bottle on the other side of the building. Perhaps that's now illuminated?

Let's hope there's a similar improvement when we're inside looking out. The biggest "downgrade" from VC to SA for me was that almost no interiors in SA give you a view out through the windows when you're inside.

I imagine it's probably gonna be like in the HD Universe. A welcome change I might add.

I think it is from the smoke/dust effect. The light poles behind cj also have some blur on them.

Screenshot analysis:

- That fence looks sexy

- Sweet's house has been re-modeled; the window is an actual window rather than just a static texture; plus you can see inside!

- The texture quality is great!

- That spray can is so damn sexy

- CJ's jeans are still weird as f*ck

- The foilage is f*cking amazing

- Particles look fantastic

- The blood on the lower right; notice how it spills over - it makes me think blood has been reworked to be more like HD Universe games

- Green Bottle bar has better lighting

- Looks like CJ's eyes will actually move

- The jeans do look better in the 2nd screenshot, interesting
