I'm pretty sure wheels popping off was always there and that impressed me at the time. 

Impressive are the shadows cast by the explosion.

I know it's the most tiny thing but GSG seem to have remodelled most of the props such as this billboard right here and even remaked the artwork on the billboards. Truly shows that a lot of passion went into this project.

Forgot what a strong orange-y filter the old game had. I'm still conflicted as to whether I'm gonna miss that in the Unreal engine version. Kinda good memories of long PS2 sessions right there.

And this is on PC and that too with mods, it looks way worse than this on my PS 2.

Maybe due to the fact that we can adjust the draw distance on the PC version, whereas we're stuck with the intentional low draw distance (orange hazey look) on the PS2.

There actually was a pretty good ambient sound in the woods, you just had to turn your volume up. Whenever I ran or swam around SA I often did that, just enjoying the sound of the world.

 

Although I agree, some variety in the sound would be nice. GTA URM had cockerel and woodpecker in villages/woods, it was so cool and unexpected. Would love to hear some more sounds in the wild.

 

And yes, definitely improve the city sounds.

I too hope free-aim drive-by mechanics are implemented – I'm sure they will be, though, especially considering the control scheme will be similar to GTA V.

 

To be honest, I even memorised the "Aim Anywhere While Driving" cheat when I used to play on the PS2 version. It just felt better to have more control IMO.

The truth is, most of the textures are upscaled where it worked best, like CJ's pants. You can do it right now yourself too, grab the pants texture, use a software that allows you to Upscale textures for free (most of them have limited use then you have to pay) and you will see the exact same result.

And a lot of other models/textures are completely reworked because it just doesn't work well anymore. The technology has advanced so much that it actually outputs are really good result but sometimes the textures lacks a lot of details and have to be completely reworked.

 

Some people might disagree or hate that they did this, but where it was possible, they applied this technology to it to get the game look as close to the originals as possible without sacrificing much :D

Did they say that there are going to be new gun sounds or did you just make it up?

I played the whole game once with that code on.

Think it was mentioned to be in this remaster by default. I think some source mentioned that the gta 5 drive by mechanism is in the remasters.
