I hope there’s a lot more in the game then just what we’ve had for years. I hope there’s more interiors in the games even an extra few. And cut content be nice too. I’d love a photo mode in each game to take screenshots that be nice. Love to see more stuff in the game I know not major huge content just some new stuff be pretty nice.

Not going to lie, I'm growing tired of this discussion thread. It seemed pretty cool before with the icon leaks and other stuff but once it actually dropped... Oof.

Uhm, I was thinking of elaborating more... Oh...

 

It reminds me of how much time I spent here back when GTA V for PC wasn't announced yet. It was one of the most unhealthy things I done to myself in regards to mental health. Really, it's not good. (I had other issues)

 

In the end it turned out to be such a massive waste of my time and I deeply regret it. Yet here I am, wasting my time again.

 

I'm also realizing how draining it is to read the buttloads of pointless arguing about things that can be subjective or objective about what in the end of the day is still mostly subjective (and also depends on people's money which well, why would you care about someone else's finances?) 

 

Anyway, I just scrolled past the last pages, barely read anything, I don't think I can handle it anymore. I'll be gladly waiting for the game but I'll stick to other outlets for information. This here is sometimes comparable to a political debate. (Then there's the folk with superiority complex, inferiority complex, victim complex, the folk who blow things out of proportion, the ones who dismiss everything thinking it's alright, etc, etc, etc.) 

 

Yes, I can just leave, it's that what I'm talking about. I wish this place wasn't so messy but I can't even blame anyone really, that's the internet for you. It's in most part a waste of time tool to sell products and spam ads in your face (while collecting your data, spying on you and attempting to manipulate your opinions with algorithms that work like a black box)

IV is great in a different way to V, and is a more refined bit of storytelling. It's a harrowing, far more serious (although still satirical) look into the American Dream than V ever was.

 

V felt a little shallow on my first pass on 360, and over the years seems to (I have not kept track) have had huge improvements across PS4, and now on PC, where I have played the last 160+ single player hours of V.

 

I prefer playing through IV's missions as Niko. 

IV feels like a movie you want to watch over and over, set in a highly detailed, dense city.

 

In V, despite the great characters, I feel more like I'm making the fun up in my head with what I do between them, it feels more gamey. I was never fully sold on its campaign, and playing through it has some great moments, but doesn't feel like the grand epic they achieved with IV. 

 

V feels like a infinitely deep amount of gameplay systems based off of slapping together amazing mechanical systems from GTA IV, Midnight Club: Los Angeles,  and Max Payne 3 with a character switch button for when a system or locale gets a bit boring and you want to have a some distraction thrown at you, a-la 'scooter brothers'. It's good at being a great game, less being a great story, to me.

 

Yeah true, I get what you mean here, I actually do prefer the approach if V being more of a sandbox and less of a story/narrative. I don't mind the cinematic influences in either case. But meeting somewhere between IV and V would have been a great compromise. IV was maybe too serious, where V was the opposite and quite arcade and shallow.

 

I guess ultimately for me is regardless, I spent more time in Liberty City than I ever did in V's Los Santos. I think I was hugely let down by the reduction of interiors like the Cluckin Bells. The map felt bigger, but less things to do. I was also expecting the ingame stock market to be more useful than it was. I also wished we could buy more houses around the map in single player and things like this. I guess they maintained the IV single player mode way better with the Stories DLC's too. Was wishing for something like this in V but never came. 

 

It also just seems completely forgotten about which is sad. IV got lost in the shadow of V. They're both great games in their own right. I actually switched to Xbox Series X after years of Playstation, partly so I could access these older games like IV. Glad to say I can now play it again in my current system which is awesome.

This is unfortunately cyclical and will ebb and flow, even with main R* releases. GTAF was kind of inhospitable as well when GTA V was first delayed, and when we took a year to get new info. For GTA V PC as you mentioned, the PC topics were even worse than these trilogy ones, there were so many people banned by many members of staff for slinging actual slurs at others like "f**got", arguments about PC and consoles, arguments about "fanboyism" and "shilling" (even I was arguing back then with those people - no I wasn't staff yet - and had to give up on those topics), and the same thing kind of happened with RDR2 and even GTA Online at one point (that section has been toxic af before which is why we have 3 whopping parts of B&M topics...).

 

These remasters were bound to be divisive, and the fact we're a hardcore fan community doesn't make it easier because there's gonna be a lot of um... passion... coming from both sides of the river - both praise and criticism. We're a bubble, and so are communities like the GTA subreddits (which also have a lot of the same discourse in a lot of threads, with the difference they have a thread for every single thing so you'll see more praise in threads about specific screenshots such as those VC environmental ones but also A LOT of criticism in others), it was just bound to happen. Outrage culture is also even bigger nowadays, so things can get a little more angry than they did around 10 years ago.

 

Once again, what people need to understand is that criticism and constructive discussion is welcome, all of that is in this topic. Sh*t-slinging, name calling, trying to shove opinions down others' throats and other kinds of childish attitudes is what isn't tolerated, and let me clarify, from both sides. No "fanboys and shills" but also no "haters". We've even made an effort of pinning the forum rules at the top again, rules that were WAY more enforced about 10 years ago - if you think we're censoring now, pre-GTAV era GTAF would probably make you have a stroke because tolerance for certain attitudes by other staff members was even less.

 

Tangents aside, the B&M topics exist for general discussion on criticisms, not just "whining". This topic is more for balanced constructive discussion and  reactions, when it all becomes criticism or bickering about it, it is indeed moved. Why do you think there are B&M topics in every section, in GTA V's case, there is even one since 2013? Because this stuff happens all the time with R* releases, it's as easy as that. Heavy criticism is encouraged to go in dedicated topics since then, and it's not even staff "censorship", members from the GTA V section came up with the idea for the topics and we liked it because you can centre criticisms in one topic, that is most probably viewed by R* too if that's your worry.

 

It's honestly getting kinda tiresome to be accused of censorship or whatever when we want to make the forums more civil and friendly to be in even in a situation where there's criticism. It's literally just trying to find reasons to be angry and justify your own concerns for the sake of outrage. Most of the members don't know what goes on behind the scenes, and when you keep accusing us of things we aren't doing ("you're deleting 600 criticism posts!!" and meanwhile everything that isn't bickering is still up, and there's also positive posts hidden due to participating in the bickering or bickering back with users who criticise).

 

Don't bother arguing with this post either, this is just a PSA and I'm not looking to go in circles about it, that would be adding to how tiresome this can get.

I agree, but we can't expect everyone to feel the same, and that's only fair.  As long as people who agree don't start sh*t-slinging at those who don't and vice versa. It's one of the blessings and curses of being part of a large R* community, all sides and tastes.

What’s happening here with Tommy seems to be some skin differences between the  head and arms. Heads skin looks more original I like that more.

That's definitely a bug though, as the light seems to be applying to the whole model and not just the areas being obscured by a shadow. It's a Switch screenshot that has low res lighting and (no?) shadows (the other platforms don't have this kind of effect), so we'll see how it looks at release. I totally expected the Switch version to be the lowest quality one, as usual with these games, but maybe some of the low graphics settings kinks have to be reviewed?

I don't think it's possible in this particular case, but sometimes when people find an exploit, it's a bad idea to let others know, simply because it would get patched in an instant. So we wouldn't really know anything outside of the small, private piracy circles.
