Damn, Smoke's balls look so good in both games! No wonder CJ wants to play with them.

You realize, that we are only WEEK away. Not two month, LEES THAN ONE WEEK!

What they are going to do by that time?

Remodel all the characters?

Remodel all the cars?

You're delusional if you think anything will be different in the final game.

Fine, I won't buy the games. Good thing you woke up me from the American dream.

The amount of clothing options they had to go through remastering in SA is ridiculous. I'd assume at least half of it will be pretty half-assed.

Which probably would be fine and understandable, but the thing is, those are the very first clothes you wear. They are iconic. Majority of the people use them till the end of the game. MAYBE it would be a good idea to, i dunno, put more effort into them then Big Smoke's pants, ya get it?

Absolutely. I can't explain it at all. Perhaps, it has something to do with the development process; lack of communication, weird deadlines... something along those lines.

Imagine being so hateful and not having responsibility that you go talk sh*t to GTA fans at a GTA forum. Like if this was an all gaming forum, I'd understand but it's a gta forum.

What the flying f*ck

Damn, those CJ's jeans still stick out like a sore thumb. It really is strange because Big Smoke's pants are clearly reworked, but CJ's aren't? That belt looks very jarring.

Modifications will definitely make it better but GSG should have really put more effort in them.

CJ looks fine apart from the jeans, and the others look fine too. Tommy & Claude, not so much.

First game I'm trying is SA on Game Pass. I would rather see gameplay video than screenshots.

The fact that the models and textures look so ugly everytime is just a confirmation of the fact that the graphics look good thanks to whatever default settings they used on Unreal Engine 4 and not to an outstanding work by GSG.
I see close to zero effort on textures, close to zero effort to make cars look right, close to zero effort to make clothing look right...

  • The Admiral in the Ocean View screenshot looks like a monster truck with collapsed rear suspension, the textures aren't even aligned;
  • Tommy's clothing are made out of whatever but fabric;
  • CJ's jeans are hideous, all the effort went into looking for the best AI upscaling website;
  • Big Smoke's jeans, they pretty much slapped a jeans looking texture and watched a tutorial on how to add stitches. Didn't bother with making the parts that are stitched together.. actually stitched together like a real life clothing;
  • "Hey this fabric texture looks good on jeans, let's slap it to the rest of the clothing we have";
  • Whatever happened with with Tommy's hands, literally LEGO characters;

The thing that stuggers me is that they bothered with some details like the buttons on the shirts which they got dedicated poligons but then they don't do anything to CJ's belt?

I'm not a professional developer or a long time 3D modeler/material artist but damn... I work on this type of things in my free time and I try to put all the effort on everything. I know 3D modeling isn't as easy as pushing a button but the level of effort expected for a game branded Rockstar Games is high.

There are some things that are objectively ugly in my opinion.

What modifications? This is not Renderware. This is not RAGE. It's completely new engine, that none of the modders really have experience in. On top of that, the files will be (probably) encrypted. You'll have to wait at least somewhere from a year to two to even see first (more complex) mods pop up. We only now have entered the true modding phase for RDR2, only now we have a news on the anim editor for GTA V, and those games are on the engine that we had for over a 10 years to figure out.

People really thing you'll be able to drag and drop the mods? Why do you think keeping the original games on the stores was such a big deal for some of the people?

With all do respect, if you think this is acceptable and you don't think R* (you know, the company that makes the best selling and best rated games in history) should't be criticized for it, than you're not a "real" gta fan. Just a fanboy.

And I don't mean that as an insult or something. Just look up the definition of a fanboy.

Nah dude, thats literally the first outfit you get in the game. If that dosn't look good, everything else gonna look even worse.  Keep in mind those are the screenshots they choose to promote the game, those are the BEST pictures they have.

Time to accept reality, it looks halfassed AF. Every single screenshot proves the trilogy was rushed

Wooow... yes, very impressive, much progress. My mind is blown already
 wow-ok.gif 200.gif

its just a different angle. Look at the explosion scene with Phil from the trailer, its the same face

yep you right my dude, they just released sh*tty pictures to trick people into not buying the game. In reality those remasters gonna look great! trust me on that!

Man, I'm just showing small differences. Be a hard time to someone else.

Unreal Engine is the most popular engine tons of developers use to start their game dev journey. We already saw a fan-made mod of GTA SA in UE4.

I don't see it being more difficult to mod with than RAGE.

Perhaps if you don't want people to yell back at you, stop being an ass to every single positive comment you see about the game eh? Should be that easy. Every single one you've quoted and cried about.

You don't enjoy it, good, you can talk about it but don't go quoting every single positive comment on purpose constantly, as if you're trying to convert people into some kind of cult. It's basically every single one of your posts here, don't be surprised that people argue back when you question them.

We'll let you hate the game if you also let people enjoy it without constantly questioning them about it just because you don't.

Also not sure why you keep being snarky, sarcastic and talking about "cope" and stages of grief, I'm sure you can be a bit more civil than that because that's borderline trolling just because you want to "show em!" it's a bad game for you. I'd simmer down.

With all due respect and humbly, if you're upset by the textures in a low res screenshot then I have to question your sanity and intentions.

I also have to question you as a video game player. The biggest selling point is gtav controls and how beautiful it looks in comparison to 20 years ago.

There's no need to compare to gtav or any other titles because we have the old games to compare them too and this game is a very very good update

Thus, I think you really enjoy being negative and as such I have to call you out on it.

Modding should be easy but I did some research and apparently the developers have to enable modding support on the build they release. Tho I don't know if from our end we can "jailbreak" it and making it mod-friendly. Don't quote me on this tho I might be just wrong.

This shouldn't be a surprise really that we're noticing all these weird and half assed things here and there, it's not like this is remastered by Rockstar themself, it's made by those who made that horrible SA remaster port, might want to watch those videos about those SA ports if you haven't already get that idea how this studio rolls, yeah and their half assed messy MO can still be noticed here again with the Trilogy by what people are already noticing and we're just days from release.

This is where people need to be more careful about preordering.

Creating games, not modifying.

If the game does not support the modding, good luck making it work.

Officer Ronson

I think the character models look ok-ish barring some things like CJ's jeans which, if you haven't noticed, the model has actually been remade but the texture itself is still wack. Tommy's thumb is odd but isn't a deal breaker for me, it isn't something i'll be focusing on during gameplay propper and I think Big Smoke's pants are ok.

Maybe I'll give a sh*t to nitpick such small details when the games come out and gameplay isn't really any better as it has been promised.
