Obviously the general aesthetic is better, but the error is so glaring my only reaction is just "wtf is wrong with that train." Plus the fact they're showcasing this repeatedly doesn't bode well for any attention to detail in these remasters.

 

Also note the lack of 'clutter' no newspapers etc. which were very noticeable GTA3.

Duh, who would have thought a 2021 remaster, which only job is to modernize already existing games, has (for the most part) sharper textures and better lighting than the 2001-2004 original trilogy running on potato hardware? Yes there is a result, but given the fact that their only job was to upgrade the graphics and change the controls, the result is kinda disappointing. It's also kinda embarrassing, they couldn't make Tommy look Italian, when there are already multiple character concepts.

 

 

Look at the skin colour, nose, hair and facial expression. What made them think that Tommy Vercetti is supposed to look like a bollywood actor for the next love drama?

I would really like to interview a GSG character artist and find out how they came to that conclusion. Like ok, his skin is darker because you want him to be italian, sure, but the dude is literally dark yellow. I think someone was trying to be a little too ambitious but the details got lost in lack of communication or something.

He reminds me more of F.P Santangelo who is Italian American.

Why are they keep showing the same locations over and over again? I feel like they didn't put equal effort to every section of the map and are showing the best looking parts. 

 

"The new Ocean View sign looks cool, let's put Tommy in front of it again, but now with different clothes!"

What a weird mentality, and speaking of clothes what happened to the zipper of the track suit? Is Tommy wearing a hoodie now? Why does CJ has those terribly upscaled jeans? You are not going to re-model it at least do a better job upscaling it.

 

Also one thing I realized, both the protagonist and NPC models will more than likely not have facial animation, that means you will be looking at weird plastic statues with zero expressions outside of cutscenes. Take a look at Claude in the trailer while he drives the car, isn't even noticable in the older games due to the graphics, will look extremely weird in this game.

The more I see new screenshots the more nitpicky I get. Especially over the things they were too lazy to fix (CJ's jeans, upscaled textures, Tommy's thumb and clothes, wheels not being perfectly round and suspension looking weird). I swear it would have been easier and better it they had just remade everything from scratch. Including all the rigging and animations. I really want to give GSG the benefit of the doubt but I can't. Not a single thing I've seen so far looks 100% right. If they feel comfortable showing us all that, imagine what they don't want us to see. And if GSG can't get the graphics right, why should I trust that they can improve on the gameplay aspect? I'm so disappointed lol

Hmm it's almost like people are more vocal about the negative parts on a forum full of people who have played it since childhood and know the game inside and out evidently better than the devs themselves to the point where they notice these flaws immediately. Wack.

I honestly like the tracksuit and Tommy's look, but how do you misplace fingernails? Especially when convincing people that this is the "definitive edition" and that they should buy your game? Odd. However, the other screenshots look awesome, especially that GTA 3 one, holy sh*t.

That's all I'm gonna say.

 

I really feel bad for the guy(s) who worked their asses off on remaking the maps, with all that extra detail, and their work is shat on by whoever did those terrible, creepy and uncanny characters.

 

I really do hope someone will salvage those maps and just secretly convert those to V/FiveM, because it's a shame if they will be stuck with this game...
