There are much better ways to get recognition and if they really wanted they could've 10 times become bigger than what Kojima is to mainstream in general. People are incomprehensibly complex and even more so for people in their place. I honestly don't think GTAO credits were the sole reason that caused the rift between Leslie and Sam, there's more to that story which perhaps we'll never know.

Yes but as Dan points out, it would be hypocritical to court too much attention in an obvious way, given the themes of their games. They still cultivated a cult of personality in their own way, by being deliberately mysterious and plastering their names in the most prominent places. Reading about the behind the scenes culture at Rockstar, they clearly fancied themselves as rockstars for lack of a better term. I don't think less of them for this, don't get me wrong, I just don't buy the whole humble act that they don't want the recognition.

Agreed, which is why I feel like that statement from Dan is a bit disingenuous - it's not as simple as that and he's clearly just trying to portray himself in a certain way that makes people think 'wow he's so humble'.

You're probably right bro, but it's likely that it all stems from ego. In the subsequent lawsuit, Benzies complains that he felt entitled to an equal share of the royalties that Sam and Dan were receiving, but they didn't see it that way. If they didn't value themselves above other employees, why did they give themselves the lions share of the royalties? We're not talking 10, 20, 50% more than a senior developer, we're talking 1000s of percent more. Again, not hating on them, just not buying the whole humble act.

Gameplay trailers have barely even BEEN a thing lol, they're probably just not marketing this game as hard because for the last time it's a rerelease. Not a new game. There is NOTHING left to sell. Don't act like you're suddenly gonna preorder the game as soon as you see a HUD, you've already made up your mind and so has everyone else by now.

I'm glad to know I'm not the only one here who has their expectations set to less-than-ideal, it's at the very least a little sus just how little Rockstar has advertised these remasters and how fast they're publishing them. I sincerely can't help but have the nagging feeling that maybe, much like the San Andreas PS3 / Xbox 360 port, what we are about to experience on the 11th is slightly half-assed at best rather than the 'definitive' version everyone seems to be desiring.

Is that not what they already did with the first trailer? Why would they need another one? Not saying it's impossible that they release something before release (most likely tomorrow if ever) but it's more so just a freebie for people instead of actually necessary information.

Not even, as I mentioned earlier, RDR2 preload was encrypted. So was GTA V on steam. We'll get the file structure and that's it, no contents.

I thought I was the only one here keen to purchase the Switch version lol, I too hope that it's a good port! I've always dreamed of having this trilogy on a portable system, it's gonna be so rad - I'm not expecting it to be quite on the same graphical level as the PC/Xbox/PS versions, but as long as the framerate is solid and there aren't too many concessions made, I'm in. Keeping my fingers firmly crossed for this version.

By you, you mean him, not you = you guys. Because I'm sure as hell only opening my wallet after seeing some reviews and raw uncut gameplay, just like I did with other remakes / remasters in the past 5 years. Gameplay trailers will still mask a lot of sh*t.
