definitely understandable, i think a lot of us here would've missed this kind of thing. however, i also think that perhaps there is a chance they noticed, seeing as the IPL list conflicts might be a little more obvious when you have access to every file ever associated with the development of this game. idk if it's fair to write it off now as "they won't notice"

Dem sum specs! nothing crazy but  im getting excited! A proper look at this would be divine! but my blind nostalgia bone dictates I get this no matter what lol, I haven't played a bad Rockstar game yet IMO, but I hear the folks on the Gta V re re re release expanded being a meme like Skyrim lol... That being said I hold Rockstar and Bethesda in the same light... They have fumbled but damn they have magic most of the time!

They still don't make sense LOL

 

i5-2500k for minimum i7-8700K for recommended would make a lot more sense  if they were equivalent to the AMD counterparts

Yeah... The i5-6600K for minimum is close to the 2600 for recommended in Single Threaded workloads.

Makes no sense either way. Even if that was the case it would be a IPC problem. Single-Thread performance which is still faster for the 2600.

it being a technical bug isn't so clear, as much as it being a low setting for mobile in the case of the trailer or merely nitpicking in the case of the screenshots is.

My screenshot proves that you don't need to zoom in to see it. And the fact that you normally shouldn't see it proves my point that this is not the intended look. You might be right about it being set to low, but why mix mobile footage with console/PC footage? It just furthers the feeling of inconstancy, which the trailer is already plagued with.

Also The GTX 760 and R9 280 aren't even supported by the Drivers released for the Games. As of 6/21/2021 AMD no longer Supports the R9 200 series and Nvidia stopped supporting the 700 series as of 09/20/2021......It gives me the feeling these games were supposed to be launched much earlier in the year.

Map-wise for Vice City, it seems they've gone with the PC/Xbox version (which is fairly outdated compared to the PS2 one), though I am basing this off of one very tiny distant prop from the trailer, hah.

 

The PC/Xbox versions of Vice City have a Mean Street Taxis advertisement on the stone benches, whereas the PS2 version has Sunnyside Taxis.

 

 

The PS2 version is more finalised and has a few extra props, different textures and such, but honestly I can't blame them for not bothering to check or use it - the PS2 models have screwed up faces (as in polygons - not people), lower res textures, etc. It'd be a hassle to sort through it all, especially if you haven't previously obsessed over all the differences like modders have in the past.

 

Meanwhile though, I spotted a few interesting/"positive" things from the screenshots and trailer (perhaps would be better in the analysis thread, but while I'm here..).

 

They have actually added some rooftop props to the buildings along Ocean Drive:

 

They also alternated the neon colours for the Leslie (white and yellow) buildings from a plain white on both to full pink and half pink, and fixed the squigglys (bugged on PC like below, fixed on PS2):

 

And in this screenshot, they made the effort to actually make the windows 3D on this building, which gives me a bit of hope for Little Haiti:

 

 

I'll probably post more findings in the analysis thread in a bit.

i can definitely understand that viewpoint, and i don't disagree now that you've clarified. however, i do think it's wrong to consider it a technical bug more than just a settings inconsistency given what we know and the screenshots being of acceptable quality for a desktop platform

The more I think about it the more it makes sense in my head. The website redesign and the pictures taken at GSG in 2020... Am I grasping at straws?

This makes me think about the original rumours that it was supposed to have been revealed much earlier in the year. I think there is a good possibility marketing assets are being reused and the inconsistencies might be due to us seeing stuff from the supposed original announcement (let's say late 2020/early 2021) and stuff that's more current.

As for the CPU specs I have a feeling there is a bit of marketing optics involved. If they had an i7 (even if it's weaker) as a minimum requirement, the layperson would look at that and go "wtf?" because it's requiring a high core-count CPU.

Good point, by the way October 26 Nvidia driver already includes support for GTA Trilogy. Still waiting for AMD though.
