Second of all, you're literally comparing the "remastering" of a 2 minute cutscene to a fully-fledged remaster of THREE FULL PLAYABLE GAMES

Everything in the Vice City remaster looks edible for some reason.

 

SA is looking like it keeps the OG atmosphere the best out of the three, in my opinion

november is a good month and also gives me 2 of my favorite games in a remaster/remake

A full remake from the ground up would be somewhat worth it. But yes it'd be quite expensive. In Canada we pay 90 bucks for games so I could only imagine how much that type of remake would cost lol. I just thought they'd go balls to the wall for their best gta games especially VC and SA.

Not only that. We would've had like 5 years of wait between each game. Honestly, I don't think the money and the wait combined is worth it.

As far as a remaster goes, they have gone quite far with this. You don't really see this level of an upgrade (yes, the character models are weak, but that's like taking one kind of trash and replacing it with another) in a remaster.

San Andreas complete remake would be as complex to do as other GTA 5, would took about 5 years or more.

I'm not a fan of the remasters' look but Welcome To The '80s videos make this crap look good. And about the fan mods... I think there were some good HD texture packs. Vice Cry and RoSA were great. I was never a fan of ENB mods or other similar ones that added reflections and stuff that looked out of place, or f*cked up the timecyc and colors in general. Those things are my problem with this remaster too.

Modders did one thing way better than R*/GSG/whoever's responsible right now: They showcased their creations right. That SA driveby screenshot looks awesome. Maybe it's good that they're not hiding anything though.

However, look closer, the shirt in the fanmade version has the proper material map to it, so it actually looks like a shirt, you can see the "fabric", which goes back to what I've said my main complaint is with the new models, they seem to lack proper shaders and materials, everything looks too smooth and like plastic. All this stuff is already built into the engine it just needs tweaking time, make the clothing look like clothing, use a better skin shader so it diffuses the lighting in a more natural way instead of looking plastic, etc. Small changes like this go a long way.

On this note too, I agree, the creator took too much inspiration from Max Payne 3 and the VHS Nostalgia effect, it feels overbearing.

 

edit: Just to slide this in real quick, Max Payne 3, and by extension the "Welcome To The 80's" videos took heavy inspiration from Man On Fire...

They don't say "remaster VIDEO", they say "fan-made REMASTER" like it's a thing lol
