ROCKSTAR MANIC

20 years of memories as a kid playing this title. The early 2000s(01-04) hold a special place in my heart. I grew up with these games, every time I pick up a ps2 controller and play 3 it takes me back when I was 8-9 years old. 01 and that awful event on sept and this title will be forever be placed in my memories cause I know where I was

Happy 20th anniversary to my favorite GTA! The one that started it all for me. Even after all these years I still find ways to have fun when I play it, it just never gets old. GTA III is one of those games that I will forever hold dear simply because of how big of an impact it has left on me when I first played it. It's quite crazy to think this game is now 20 years old.

I did this in my spare time a few months ago in order to celebrate, only to add the red logo of the Definitive Edition as a last minute change. It's nothing much but I'm quite pleased with the result:

This looks great!

Do you mind if I upload it on my YT channel? As a community post.

I first played GTAIII at my Godparents home as their son had a ps2 and GTAIII, while me and my brother only had the ps1 and Driver2 and we loved the game, but we were blown away by the differences and we were hooked right away...we went home and talked about how GTAIII was way better than driver lol later a few months down when I was in 6th grade we finally got a ps2 with GTA Vice City and we played the heck out of that game for many years until it got too scratched that it would freeze during gameplay eventually GTA SA was announced and it was the first game my brother and I saved up money for and at the time 50$ seemed like alot of money for us...when it finally came out I was in 8th grade and we would stay up late and wake up early before school to play the game and it was my most played game and repurchased the game more than few times over the years...was the game I was truly immersed with...GTA IV was a great game but wasn't as fun as San Andreas was imo and when GTA V was announced with us going back to SA we were excited but even though the graphics were great I never truly got immersed in it as I did with SA, only RDR2 since SA have I been so immersed in a game world and can't wait to replay these classics with upgrades

Happy 20th birthday to GTA 3!!

To commemorate this event, I created some extended versions of the existing GTA 3 radio stations (except Chatterbox, which is a broadcasting type radio).

Here is a playlist that contains all the extended GTA 3 stations:

I hope you all enjoy this one. I did my best with it.

Note: Skip the first video. That's just an intro.

Amazing work bud, I remember renting the game at blockbuster and saving my shekels to eventually buy it. Once bought I could not stop playing it from jamming to game radio to getting hype to msx FM. I hope rockstar still has the great tunes still embedded in the game.

It's good to be back to the forums

Will always love this game spent so many hours on it. Replayed it over and over.

The opening sequence

Senor Dickhead

Getting the banshee

Reversing the flying tank

The sense of achievement getting to the second island.

Happy Birthday GTAIII

I played Grand Theft Auto III 12 or 13 years ago
I remember that here in Mexico there was always an arcade machine with pirate games and in that arcade had GTA 3 and GTA SA
I played for hours until my mother came for me and punished me XD
but since at that time I did not know what to do, I only explored the map

when my father finally bought me my PS2 the first game he bought me was GTA 3 and from there I was happy playing the first game of a whole incredible saga
I don't know exactly how to describe many funny, frustrating and very nostalgic moments

I think my favorite moment is the Bomb Da Base Act II mission, see that epic explosion of the ship and see that detail and sound effects of the ship sinking and now see GTA 5 and see how now the detail is exaggerated in very simple things

I am currently 20 years old and I have my own pc and I continue playing GTA 3 with many mods lol and hoping that with this new remastering I will have the feeling of a new video game again a new experience and adventure
I think my wish of this new gta 3 is that the radios have more music and new radio stations, GTA 3 has an iconic soundtrack but very underrated and at the same time it is very short and I hope that the game finally has a long soundtrack like those later games (VC, SA, IV and V)

a few hours ago I did this to celebrate the 20th of GTA 3

I posted this on twitter, but I want to post it again here so that other users can enjoy this small wallpaper that I made following the style that rockstar used in the official artworks

note: claude's artwork is the original that rockstar made, I simply did a remastering and then I made the wallpaper following the style of the official wallpapers

Happy 20th birthday! One more year and your copy of GTA III can legally drink the United States.

What a great game, I like to do a playthrough each autumn because the game is so atmospheric with its constant overcast and rainy weather. Not my first GTA game but a good one nonetheless.

Middle Class Roadman

Happy 20 year anniversary - so many memories to write about. This game pretty much changed everything

My contribution to this thread is my favourite GTA radio station ever, Game FM:

I'm a long time fan, since GTA 1. Playing GTA 3 on day 1 after playing nonstop GTA 2 was mind-blowing. Experience the Grand Theft Auto magic in 3D was a feeling that I don't able to express in words. The ones who were there will know on what I'm talking about.

GTA 3 has a special place in my heart, and this video is a showcase of my GTA 3 collection.

Happy birthday Grand Theft Auto III🥳

Big up to the Drum and Bass heads on the forum. It was MSX FM that introduced me into the scene and especially this song. To this day I am still going to raves and part of the culture. Happy Anniversary. Thanks Rockstar.

For me, GTA III was the first game that with it's open world details I asked the question:

How is that possible in a video game?

...and where's my PC versions of LCS/VCS, huh, Rockstar? 🤨

Happy birthday to the most revolutionary video game title in history!

Grand Theft Auto have had a profound effect on my taste and vision in video games and entertainment overall, and it all started with the 2001 game.

Grand Theft Auto III gave us liberty.

Grand Theft Auto III gave you liberty.

Grand Theft Auto III gave me liberty.

Give me liberty, dammit.

I played all of the top down GTA's (some of my best memories was using my dads crap PC and sitting with my brother as we took turns playing it)

Then I was late(ish) to the PS2 party, late enough that by the time I had one, Vice City was already out. So I basically skipped 3 altogether and Vice City was my first taste of 3D GTA.

I have gone back and played III since, and part of the reason I'm so excited for the remastered trilogy is so I can start with GTA III, just as nature intended, and get a really good feel for it.

But I know only too well how much impact GTA III had on the entirety of gaming, and on most older members lives as whole.

So to GTA III, the one I almost missed, I salute you 🥳

GTA3 - for me at least, it's still my favourite in the franchise. I spent so much time playing GTA3 it was unreasonable. I'd like to think it didn't cause my high school grades to slip, but let's be real, it definitely did. Once I'd knocked out the missions, I decided to start modding the absolute sh*t out of it. The modding scene was awesome back in the day too. GTAGarage was an awesome place to pick up mods, which is how I ended up here at GTAForums.

Cheers Rockstar, you had it all figured out back then. Special shoutout to GTANet for being the best place for us GTA nerds to hang out for all these years.

Brings my joyful memories you know? I was never the closest person to my family although everytime I play GTA III (and I do every now and then) reminds me of some of my best childhood memories which were playing this game shortly after it came out with some family members. Even though San Andreas is my most played, this one is my favourite.

Happy Birthday Rockstar but also Happy Birthday to every staff member at GTA Forums for bringing us this community which is so amazing.
