Dumb question. In online can you sell collectibles even if your not in the Collector Path?

I also believe not, the Madame will not have the sell option yet. Yet I'm pretty sure what you find stays with you though*; so it's kind of money in the bank if you join collector role some day right?

 

Check for Madame Nazar on the in-game map (she will not appear if too far away though) or various online sites like madamnazar.io and go her her spiel sometime rasputin41179

 

*When I joined collecting, my friend who plays less but is always collecting, was a bit jealous how complete many of my sets were!

Yes, you can pick things up that you can see but they will not sparkle or make your controller vibrate until you have the collector role. So you can fill up on quite a lot of things. Not sure if you get the XP for picking things up but I think you do.

You can use jewelry collectibles to create trinkets from Gus, though, even if you are not a collector. The items don't show up in your satchel, but the game still tracks whether or not you have the right ingredients to make a trinket.
