nile_river7
There needs to be a single player expansion/dlc. It's been 3 years since the release of the game and Red Dead Online is not what the company expected it to be. I personally would love for a single player expansion to take place in Blackwater since that's where the beginning of the end starts for the gang. Possibly the story ending after the ferry heist where the gang escapes the town and flees into the Grizzlies. I would love to play as Arthur once more and see him and Hosea pulling scams, getting leads on the real estate scam there were going to do. Seeing John with no scars possibly. Jenny, The Callender boys, who everyone seemed to love and more Sean before he got arrested. Maybe even Landon Ricketts. We could do more hunting/fishing missions, stagecoach robberies, loan sharking, homestead robberies and bounty hunting. Some companion missions and definitely more camp dialogue. I think this would be a really cool way to give players and fans of the game some more memories with the Van der Linde gang before their demise. Lemoyne outlaw
while i certainly agree that the game needs a story dlc. i do not want a blackwater setting. it was already in rdr1 and it has plenty of use. i would rather have an undead nightmare 2. with the gang acting like a walking dead survivor crew. there are plenty of other great ideas for story dlc. i just dont want to see blackwater or any of the rdr1 map. they need to use the new map more. stag3coach2 and hector savage
_Dirty_
I always had this idea that if RDR 3 ever comes out, you play as Dutch and finish as Arthur. The story is about the formation of the gang and it ends with the failed Blackwater robbery.
Edward RDRIII
I don't understand people who says RDR3 should end in the failed Blackwater robbery, what are we supposed to do after this then, restart the game? Because clearly this wouldn't be the best situation to free roam at all. Jutland, Jeansowaty, Lemoyne outlaw and 4 others

With the gang in full force shortly before Blackwater, and the story explains how each member joined the gang Ether way if Rockstar gives us a complete new storyline im good too haha Edward RDRIII and nile_river7
Jutland
I’d prefer an entirely new area to free roam in, TBH. I mean I love this game but I also think New Hanover and adjoining states have been done. They are done. Of course a new interpretation of the United States, with new states and new geography, can’t fit the Dutch gang story, so we’d need a new story with new characters. After the game got out to pc, the devs immediately shifted towards to the Online which they assumed would be their cash crop and really, really discarded the single player. They are not interested in it anymore. I think RDR2 is dead now, and maybe in 10+ years we get a new game. But if we do, it should be a different story with different characters, gang and so on. The Van Der Linde gang is done. nile_river7
Erikson994
Unfortunately it's pretty clear that they want to focus on online mode rather than expansion or dlc for single player. GTA 5 was already a proof of this. At first they planned to make expansion for GTA 5 single player and then they changed their focus on GTA Online, which is still live pretty well even now. Also I'm not sure how they would add a story DLC into RDR 2. Technically the story is already wrapped nicely so I'm not sure how they can add new story (at least from my limited knowledge). Maybe they can do something out of the box like a zombie survival DLC like the first RDR? But that idea has been used so I hope they will not do this same thing IF they ever want to make single-player DLC again.

Ironside
I agree with all saying that the “Van Der Linde-gang story” is finished and we do not need more games about them. The entire Red Dead Redemption is over and should be replaced by a new old west story that actually takes place in the old west-era instead of the dying days. The story could be called “Red Dead Rebellion”, “Red Dead Revenge”, “Red Dead Retribution” or whatever. But it should be a western story about a new cast of characters taking place just after the civil war in 1865 and perhaps up to 1880. At least that is what I would prefer. I am a huge fan of Deadwood and Hell on Wheels so that timeframe really is the real Wild West to me.

Getting a full story in the true wild west instead of the dying days is something I would sign up for immediately. Ironside
Buddy Hightower
I'd rather have a DLC centered on Charles and what he is doing with the natives. Maybe a DLC for Sadie's adventures after leaving the gang. Then RDR3 where we play as Davey till he dies and then take over as Arthur at the end. Then free roam with Arthur on new map. I want to play as someone who isn't all bad, but has the reputation of someone who is not to be messed with, someone who even a mean son of a b*tch like Micah wouldn't make eye contact with him, a truly unstoppable force. Here are a few examples of fittable protagonists for the next Red Dead game set in the 1870's or 1880's: Ironside

Agree, if any content is to be released in RDR2 it should take advantage of the new map, Undead Nightmare 2 would be definetely the best DLC they could release. It would be so cool if they do some chapters and every chapter has a different thematic, taking on the gothic terror cliches of the XIX century. Like one is about vampires, another about werewolves, another of ghosts and another of zombies of course. RDR2 map has so much potential for this... It could be treated in a parallel reality like the original Undead Nightmare, where Dutch's gang has disbanded and Arthur works with Hosea as a bounty hunter, and they are involved in a series of paranormal events during their travels for example, and end up fighting vampires or wolfmans. Another chapter could focus on John, and that the fate of several members of the gang ends up coming together again to fight against supernatural forces. There are endless possibilities for making a horror DLC. Edited October 28, 2021 by stag3coach2 Lemoyne outlaw
