Wishlist for GTA San Andreas: Definitive Edition

my wishlist:

hopefully the radio station is the same and they didn't loose anything

i would also like to enter interiors or most interiors without loading screen or something like that

i would like a  return of some beta content, for example they could add the stuff back from saint marks bistro, which they had to cut out back on ps2, i really would like to have that chase sequence thru portland in SA

bigfoot easteregg would be cool

please have the 2 player mode from the PS2 Version still in the game (or even a improved/better version that supports up to 4 players and better camera) i really love the 2 player mode, used that mode  a lot on my PS2 and i still use it on PC  (re-enabled it thru mods) to play with a friend and its just so much fun.

Let me wear/check out every type of clothing without this "loading screen" where CJ goes into the wardrobe and then comes out, i understand why they had to do it back on PS2 but i don't want this on the new version, i would like to preview clothes just like you can preview them in GTAV

also maybe some new additions for clothing and maybe a few new cars?  (maybe return of cut clothing and cut cars)

also i would love it, if we can purchase even more propertys xD

some way to "save" your cars, so basically if it gets destroyed or whatever, it just appears back in the garage where you last saved it. (somebody else mentioned it something like this a couple posts before mine too)

photo mode would be nice, i can see myself making a LOT of screenshots in this game and having a photo mode would just make it even better

Climbing Ladders!!! i i always remember the moment when i was in the water around the san fierro airport, i saw a ladder and realized i couldn't climb it :/

also hopefully the cheats all stay the same and they add a couple more cheats too

also i hope the draw distance is not "too extended", right now the map has the feeling that its "big", a draw distances thats too extended might make the map feel smaller and won't give me the feeling that i had on the PS2 version so i hope that they kept the draw distance in check

Beta gang peds in the game

Climb ladders

Renew licenses (all original release radio stations music on game)

Beta Mullholland Safehouse/Stahl House (I know it won't happen)

Increaded draw distance(but not too much)

PS2 Las Venturas (specially Four Dragons Casino) missing textures

I'm willing to bet that they're gonna put the Beta Mulholland Safehouse back now that they improved interior mapping.

I hope those cut missions will be featured in the Definitive Edition, like "The Truth's Out There" and "Impounded".

Great idea. This would prolong the game a little bit. I hope they still have the cutscene animations/mocap for those missions, though.

Get rid of the gang war requirement for the last few story missions. That is the one part of SA I hate. It's mind numbingly boring.

I have a wishlist based on things that I looked at after messing around with the game for 30 minutes yesterday.

Quote

  1. FIX BUGS IF THEY HAPPEN. LISTEN TO US. This is No. 1 priority.
  2. Add "The Introduction" to the game.
  3. Make sure all of the mistakes made with the old Mobile Version and pointed out by Vadim M. do not get repeated.
  4. Reduce loading times and useless transitions like the ones in wardrobes and clothing stores.
  5. Make sure that in-game screenshots featured on frames get updated. No jarring 2001-2004 screenshots on walls, it makes no sense.
  6. Make it so that cars don't respawn aggressively when panning the camera. (Speedrun strat but breaks immersion)
  7. Make it so that while entering interiors (such as the LS Bar in which you can go play pool) you can still see the entirety of the outside and not just 10% of what's in front of the entrance.
  8. Increase ped variety, especially inside interiors like Binco/Pro-Laps, etc. I have seen the same ped, three times on two different interiors.
  9. Bring all/some of the map details that exist in the PS2 Version that were absent in the PC Version.
  10. Add working and functional binoculars at the Los Santos Observatory, it's just a glorified sniper that doesn't shoot bullets.
  11. Add props around San Andreas to make up for the new dynamic lighting system, instead of relying on pre-baked Vertex Lighting.
  12. Replace the yellow enex marker system for something more dynamic and faster.
  13. Add potentially cut content if it's cosmetic and/or doesn't interfere or break storyline logic and continuity.
  14. Add extra saving slots. 10 is not enough
  15. Make it so that the camera in SA can upload pictures to RGSC. Perhaps add them to VC and III as a special "weapon"?
  16. Add raytracing in the future? Shadows and Reflections could benefit from that. Not a requirement, would be cool nonetheless
  17. Add new paintjobs to cars, extra customization, new wheels, etc
  18. Maybe add a GPS system? I don't need it. I still think it would be nice.
  19. Make the gang territory war requirement less painful or eliminate it completely.
  20. Keep cut content if there is any, do not remove it, we want to see it. (depends on modding tools)

Things I don't want removed that I was able to spot in a matter of 30 minutes.

Look out for these when playing, some sound insane but it's just some easy details that I wouldn't like to see removed in any way.

So, if I were to send a list to GSG and Rockstar that's what I would ask them:

Quote

  1. Watch Vadim M.'s video about the mobile version bugs. Make sure none of that happens again.
  2. Keep the original loading screens and art. Adapt for 16:9 or wider if possible.
  3. Do not remove the diskette as a saving floating icon. It is time specific.
  4. Keep NPC interactions alive. Drivers park cars, drivers get mad at traffic (honking and swearing), bad drivers. NPCs talk to each other on the street, they hold hands, etc.
  5. Make it so that vehicles still lose their individual parts.
  6. Keep prop interactions, such as CJ being able to drag around cardboard boxes.
  7. Keep small details such as flies next to the trash.
  8. Gangsters sometimes lean on their cars or parked cars. Keep it.
  9. Make sure that ped interactions with CJ still exist.
  10. Do not remove the Pig Pen/Strip Club features. Such as the private dance, the money throwing and security.
  11. Bike tapping. Keep it for KB/M at least.
  12. Keep the minigames such as video-game arcades, pool game, etc.
  13. Make sure that the clerk at clothing stores still interact with CJ
  14. Pay n' Spray doesn't do toys or specific vehicles (Bikes, Firetrucks, Ambulances, Cop Cars).
  15. Make sure that the security personnel at airport gates still makes remarks about CJ's flighting skills
  16. Keep the grass where it used to be, add it where it's needed.
  17. Keep props such as chairs and tables at the Venice Beach pier.
  18. Keep spawnable weapons and restore spawnable vehicles from PS2.
  19. Keep plane's navigation lights.
  20. Make sure that planes still get affected by wind gusts in adverse weather conditions.
  21. Keep the moon phases from PS2.
  22. Keep the hot dog and street vendors.
  23. Make sure audio reverb still exists in clubs like the Alhambra.
  24. Make sure the functional radio still works in clothing stores and CJ's wardrobe and that it's synced.
  25. Make sure peds still run over each other and sometimes stomp each other when in panic, also make sure unalerted peds get alerted by others.
  26. Make sure the radio soundtrack is as intact as legally possible.
  27. Keep the cheats, both hashed and regular ones. CJ is very yam. Confirmed, unsure about hashed.

I can't think of more but yeah... I'll edit if need be.
EDIT: This is a loose wishlist, it's meant for mere observation of game features within 30 minutes.

Along with the stuff I mentioned in the post on the previous page,I'd also like to see SWAT team use the MP5 and shoot like professionals instead of shooting Micro Uzis gangsta style:

hqdefault.jpg

Even if they don't want the SWAT team using the MP5 due to it already being used by the FBI,they could port the full sized Uzi from Vice City and have the SWAT team use that gun and shoot it properly:

I got max money with the casinos which basically means they add another digit ant it maxes out with all 9's.  You need to collect all the horseshoes so your luck is 100%. Make a game save and bet max amount. Soon, you'll be rolling in it. I loved that about SA. Being able to win big and go into debt, having some casino goon wiseguys chase after you to whack you if you are in debt, lol.

I don't really wish for anything else that Zello didn't mention. I've always wanted cars to return to garage if totalled.

I don't think Rockstar are going to make much or any gameplay changes or add a bunch of functionality. I think it's just going to be a little facelift. I wouldn't expect too much.

Same here. I just don't see Rockstar adding much to the gameplay apart from glossing everything over and making it look pretty. One can only hope though. All the stuff I wanna see has been mentioned by others in here already.

I wish Big Smoke and Sweet get to wear their Beta outfits or at lest some of them. Black tshirt for Sweet, and Brown Shirt for Big Smoke. It'd be much better if they'd even include Sweet with a bandana on his face and beanie, as well as Big Smoke without his cap, and wearing his Basketball jersey.

One thing that the original PS2 version of San Andreas had was that Los Santos had this glorious orange sunset glow that cast over the whole city. I really loved that. Although the original Xbox version has better graphics and a rewind/replay feature, it didn't have this orange glow. With the new weather/lighting system, I doubt the orange glow will come back.

This is what I loved about San Andreas - the different coloured hues that were location-specific. I also love the purple-tinted night sky that features over the desert and Las Venturas. These slight variations made you feel the cities were very different and foreign to each other.

Like, I said, I doubt it will come back. It's graphical choices like these that are the heart and soul of San Andreas.

The only glimpse of the orange-ish sky from the trailer was the police choppers flying over the Vinewood sign. Here's hoping they somehow stick to the original timecyc.

That's also what i loved about each individual city in SA, really felt unique.

Also, i cannot wait to see how they've done the countryside, was always eerie. Especially with all that fog going on. Kinda made you feel like ya really were in the middle of bumf*ck nowhere when you first got to Whetstone!

That's true actually. You do see it looking kind of orange in that clop. Not so much in the Las Venturas one though. Although the stars are a nice touch.

Yep, dying to cruise out in countryside and see what it's like. Especially around Angel Pine.

Where did you get it from ? It's from my GTA San Andreas '94 story thread on these forums, but sometimes it shows up on Google image search.

At rate I'm improving my SA game with all these great mods right now, I very much doubt this Trilogy Remaster will impress me or excite me. However I wanna play the VC Remaster definitely, VC did not need much mods, just a major graphical overhaul.

Well I don't want to use cheat codes right away so I need to legally obtain a Sniper Rifle so probably not haha. I'll try it when everything aligns. But before I get that to happen, probably entire YouTube, Forums, New Articles already covered it haha

I might avoid Youtube until I finish the Definitive Trilogy for that matter. I wanna play the game fresh like when I was on the 3rd grade.

Wow, the more we analyse it the more I realise it's damn better than what I expected. I mean it was pretty obvious that it'll get better lighting, and I knew lighting upgrade wouldn't be minor, but some of the screenshots like the casino one or the one with explosion behind CJ simply looks amazing.

At times it looks better than GTA IV - which is just crazy! I was not expecting such a noticeable difference. The fact that they straight up remade some textures and even added new props to some interiors (like Sweet's kitchen) just shows how much effort they've put into it.

IMO, the lighting definitely looks better than GTA IV. Although, the meshes/models aren't really as detailed.

i wish they brought back warm orange sky from ps2, it's a shame they removed it on pc

I never got to experience those. I was kinda used to the PC version's time cycle, so seeing the draw distance get jacked up wasn't a big deal to me.

Also, OG Loc has two models. One wearing a beanie and the other one wearing a bandana. I hope we get to see both. Ryder also has 4 different models. His cutscene model has a cotton-y looking jacket, while two of his in-game models has a synthetic, shiny jacket. The other one is his hatless model with a darker face used while robbing that Pizza parlor.

I can't imagine playing GTA SA without mods this time. But, I don't think I'm gonna need them due to the overhaul. But, to be honest, I'm gonna miss playing as a Call of Duty character in San Andreas. hahaha

I really hope they fix the wardrobe animation so it’s a bit faster. I don’t expect them to change it entirely, but atleast be a bit faster so it’s not so slow and tedious.

I could never get fully invested into clothing customisation because I got tired of CJ going into the wardrobe, coming out again, then going back in again. It felt like it took way longer than it needed to be.

I only bought clothes that were required  after that. Yeah some of the clothes looked ugly, but with the way a lot of the clothing now looks being far more detailed I wouldn’t mind investing some time into it. If only it doesn’t feel so much like a chore.

yeah having to watch that same animation of walking in and out is so annoying. At least it should be faster.

Would be cool if the changing was done like in gta V

Man im excited for this

-Keeping radio tracks

-Clothing being alot more smooth cycling between them. Also categories being sweaters pants etc instead of teh different shops

-Beta stuff (not anything big just clothing and maybe the dumbells in the gym having a new texture

-Lowrider controls actually making sense

-The ladders working

-Not having Cesars gang attacking me when we are homies

-Not deleting stuff to seem woke

-New paintjobs for the Lowriders

-Deleting the extremely small gang territories

-Maybe a cut small side mission we can enjoy

-Making the haircuts look alot better

-Change the color of the uzi to black (who has a moldy uzi)

-New side activities (darts bowling etc)

-Being able to get drunk

-Beard and hair menus at the barber

-Allowing us to wear the bulletproof vests

Well, here we go again. I'm just gonna copy what I said.

  • In general
  1. Relicense the missing songs due to expired licenses if possible, or add new songs just like Vladivostok FM and Radio Del Mundo, as long as they fit the time period of each game. My preference would be both.
  2. Modding support. Considering Take-Two's stance on mods as of recent and the potential of it being RGL-exclusive, I fear it seems highly unlikely.
  3. Restore PS2-exclusive content cut out or changed in non-PS2 versions.
  4. Reimplement the armor feature. Instead of being what's essentially a temporary health boost, make it so your health is still reduced when taking a hit, but the damage you take is reduced, much like FPS games with such feature. This'd make missions involving ground combat more challenging.
  5. Improve AI. I'd suggest examples like making NPCs dodge incoming explosives, move around while shooting, get to nearest cover when under heavy fire, carry grenades and molotovs and throw them to you, making police actually detect you carrying firearms, etc.
  6. Make some of the missions' difficulties platform & controller-dependent. For example, in San Andreas, in one of Zero's missions, Air Raid, make the planes more slower for consoles or when using controllers for PC and more faster when using keyboard and mouse. The mission was considered unfairly difficult for consoles, but it was the opposite for PC due to the more versatile controls of mouses compared to joysticks. Just point at the planes and click at them, I had to handicap myself by reduce the mouse senstivity for this mission.
  7. Make the radio in 3 and Vice City play songs randomly, like San Andreas and later GTA games. Split DJ commentary and commercials into seperate files if possible.
  8. Implement checkpoints for public service missions, such as vigilante, paramedic, taxi drivers upon reaching level 6. No words can describe how pissed off I would be if I manage to fail each of them near or on level 12.
  9. Cover the Stories games next. Being handheld console exclusives (which were eventually ported over to PS2), it's pretty sad these didn't get enough derserved attention.
  • Grand Theft Auto 3
  1. Restore the blue & white 90's-early 2000's NYPD car liveries for the police vehicles and other pre-9/11 content. Back when the game was released, they had to change them to a generic black & white livery due to the game being released a few moments after September 11th.
  2. Add the cut multiplayer mode. Eventually carry it over to the other games aswell and for the love of God, don't make it live-service like GTA and RD Online. Just make it like your average multiplayer modes of late 1990's-early 2000's games.
  3. Keep the FBI insignia for said agency. In the mobile version of GTA 3 and Liberty City Stories, the letters were changed to FIB like in HD universe, but FBI is still mentioned in dialogue and the name of their car.
  4. Uncut the radio. Restore "O Mio Babbino Caro" for Double Clef FM, uncensor Game Radio's songs and Joyride in Lips 106 and finally bring back Wash Him Off and the 2 cut commercials for the game.
  5. Do just about anything so the mafia with shotguns on Portland wouldn't be a nightmare.
  6. Change "See you in Miami" billboard to read "See you in Vice City" and also change Ray's pager dialogue so he'd mention Vice aswell.
  • Vice City
  1. Don't censor the Haitian vs. Cuban gangs storyline and have these 2 countries be mentioned clearly unaltered. That was part of the 80's events-inspired charm for Vice City.
  2. Restore the tear gas grenade that was from the original PS2 version and cut out in newer and PC versions and actually make it useful. Have it work like its San Andreas counterpart where instead of killing targets, it stuns them.
  3. Make Demolition Man more playable. Specifically, make helicopters more easier to control.
  4. Restore "Running with the Night" for Flash FM.
  • San Andreas
  1. Restore most of the cut content, and implement them whereever possible and fit best. From what I've heard, the game was supposed to come with 2 seperate discs a la Metal Gear Solid, but eventually was packed into one, therefore most of the content was cut out from the game. There's tons of unused dialogue that would've fleshed out the a lot more about the game world and characters. There was also an almost-finished cut mission that was to introduce the vehicle impounding feature not known by most players because of the mission being cut.
  2. Replace the Colt M1911 with the Glock pistol seen in cutscenes, but doesn't appear in game. Seeing the gun is called a 9mm, the icon for the pistols appears to be a Glock, characters call it a "nine", and the Glock is favored through gangster and hip-hop culture, it's apparent Rockstar was going to use the Glock model instead of the M1911 in-game and would've been a lot more fitting than the Colt.
  3. Bring back the 2-player mode from the original console versions. Maybe reimplement to allow 4 players.
  4. Make some of the missions less fustrating to play. For Supply Lines, make the RC plane much more easier and comfortable to control just like Vice City's Demolition Man. For Air Raid, see point 5 in general. For Freefall, make the Shamal move slower for Carl's Dodo to catch up.

Man im excited for this

-Keeping radio tracks

-The ladders working

-Maybe a cut small side mission we can enjoy

-New side activities (darts bowling etc)

-Being able to get drunk

-Allowing us to wear the bulletproof vests

As far as I can tell, what they did was a 1:1 remaster that almost pass as a remake. Thing with them being 1:1 is that they can't just add new features. New models are possible, but features aren't that likely, though.

Well, here we go again. I'm just gonna copy what I said.

  • In general
  1. Reimplement the armor feature. Instead of being what's essentially a temporary forcefield, make it so your health is still reduced when taking a hit, but the damage you take is reduced, much like FPS games with such feature. This'd make missions involving ground combat more challenging.
  2. Improve AI. I'd suggest examples like making NPCs dodge incoming explosives, move around while shooting, get to nearest cover when under heavy fire, carry grenades and molotovs and throw them to you, making police actually detect you carrying firearms, etc.

Kinda weird having police detect players carrying firearms... What for?? Cops are already annoying in most GTA games. I wouldn't wanna get chases just because I wanted to look tough carrying my m16.

Sound Design unified across all three games, that's what I want.

As much as i love SA, the sound design is just bad and i hope they fix the car brakes that sound like a turkey gobble and the hollow gun SFX.

Vice City had the better sound design.

Same mine are the following.

1. All weapons useable across all three games via cheat codes for example VC guns in Liberty City or San Andreas guns in VC vice versa

2. The ability to take any character to any City after beating each game I know each game takes place in different time periods but after you finish a game it's still just a fun game no need to make alternate lore unless R* wants to make alternate hypothetical player skins to show us what some characters might have looked like either older/younger.

3. Swimming in GTA III & Vice City.

4. Drivable Motor bikes & Helicopters in Liberty City.

5. (NOT THAT IMPORTANT BUT IT WOULD ADD SOME NICE DETAIL THE ALREADY HUGE AF GAME) Animals in San Andreas bears, deer, cats, dogs, cows, foxes, skunks, rabbits, chickens, bigfoot.

6. Liberty City Stories Vic Vance character model for the opening scene to Vice City for the sake of consistency
