Achievements

Whether you enjoy going on a few additional quests or just want to collect them all, here is a list of the achievments coming to the Definitive Edition of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City.

	Don't Need Roads Hit max speed in a Deluxo.
	Daredevil Complete 36 unique jumps.
	Legal Counsel Complete the "Riot" mission.
	Life of the Party Complete the "All Hands on Deck!" mission.
	South American Connection Complete the "Supply & Demand" mission.
	Big Heat from Little Havana Complete the "Trojan Voodoo" mission.
	Chauffeur Complete the "Publicity Tour" mission.
	Tommy Two-Wheels Complete the "Hog Tied" mission.
	Grand Theft Auto Retrieve every wanted vehicle at Sunshine Autos Import Garage.
	Bloodstained Hands Earn the Butcher criminal rating.
	Take the Cannoli Earn the Godfather criminal rating.
	Mischief Managed Complete the "Keep Your Friends Close..." mission.
	Chopper'd Up Kill all hostile NPCs during the mission "Demolition Man" using the RC chopper's blades.
	City Sleuth Find 100 hidden packages.
	Done it All Earn 100% completion.
	Kingpin Unlock all achievements.
	Put 'Em Up Knock off 15 stores.
	Offender Attain 50 wanted stars.
	Retro Lewk Wear every outfit in the game at least once.
	Scouring the City Find 50 hidden packages.
	Break it Up Cause $500,000 in property damage.
	Target Practice Perform 50 headshots.
	Prime Real Estate Purchase all properties.
	Vice Vice Baby Complete the Cherry Popper dealer subgame.
	Baked Distractions Highjack the tank without alerting the army first, during "Sir, Yes Sir!".

So if I interprete this correctly, the new stuff we will get in VC are :

- Bicycles (BMX ?)

- Fire extinguishers

- You can bribe the police to reduce your wanted ( same for GTA III)

- You have a "Media Attention"-Rank

- You can rob shops ( and gas stations ? Like GTA V)

Despite the artwork in the icons, these all refer to existing features of the original game. There was an achievement list for the PS4 version of the game and it included all of these and with the same icons except "Put 'Em Up" which used to have a pink background. Here's how they were unlocked on that version:

• One Is Better Than Two - Performing a wheelie on a motorcycle.
• High Quality H20 - Extinguishing 10 fires in the "Firefighter" side mission (completing Level 4 will unlock this if done in one sitting).
• Greasy Palms - "Police Bribes" refers to the wanted star pickups that spawn across the city. Collect one to reduce your wanted level by 1 star.
• I'm Famous - The "Media Attention Rank" is in the stats menu when you pause the game. Throughout the game, causing chaos around the city increases it.
• Put 'Em Up - There are 15 stores you can rob across Vice City by targeting the employee with a weapon.

"Take the Cannoli", which is for reaching the Godfather criminal rating, was pretty infamous in the PS4 release amongst achivement collectors because it can be really time consuming. There is an easier method for it which involves collecting 80 Hidden Packages on a new save file and then using the Sea Sparrow to shoot at a destroyed Packer, but even then it can take a while. I've already seen plenty of people 'looking forward' to the return of that one which is why I referred to it in the post

Why do they use a BMX for "One is Better Than Two" achievement icon? There are no bicycles in Vice City, only in San Andreas and Vice City Stories. They could've just made a new icon using the motorcycle render from the original game's box art.

That would've made much more sense to use the motorcycle artwork from the cover instead of recycling the icon from the PS4 version's trophy.

I could never get the RC Bandito van at the beach to spawn in the PS2 edition because it wasn't in that version of the game due to R* bug or deliberate removal.

 

Unless I missed something else and you did not need to do all the Bandito vans...

Yeah rockstar in this definitive edition has to correct these glitches!.. I hope it's not just port for new gen with graphical improvements, etc.. and keeping all the old context of classy GTAs.

You can activate the RC missions in both GTA III and Vice City using any TOYZ/Top Fun van, so the vehicle spawn not working correctly doesn't mean that RC Bandit Race can't be completed. Instead you just need to take another van, such as the one from the car park at North Point Mall, park it in the right place on the beach where a van is supposed to spawn and then exit and re-enter it. The game just checks for the player entering a van at that location, it doesn't need to be the specific spawn.

 

Though obviously it would be good if the spawning issue with the van is fixed in the Definitive Edition

I had a feeling someone would ask so I put this together yesterday...

 

 

 

The van by the racetrack does not spawn in the emulated versions of the game so you have to use the above 'fix' to get the race to start.

Most looks fun and things you do anyway to 100% completion.

Except "Take the Cannoli"- this one is stupidly grindy and time consuming  I did 100% VC last year and got Fixer(4941) rating. Also not sure about "I'm Famous!" how long it take(lost my save game so dont know what level i got).

There may be new stuff in game but these achievements were also in old(original) version.

 

-This achievement with bicycle pic is to perform wheelie with scooter or motorcycle.

-Fire extinguisher achievement is for Firefighter side mission.

-Police bribe is already in VC

-"Media Attention" rank is already in VC

-You can already rob stores in VC its not new.

So I got motivated' to try and mop up the missing trophies on the PS2 version of the game following Definitive Edition announcement.

 

One of those is do 30 second wheelie, I thought I had done 30 seconds but no 'pop' of the trophy. I was trying on my PS5 though.

 

Can someone have a look at the linked videos and give me any feedback as to where I  might be going wrong...

Thanks for explaining so thoroughly though. Weird it isn't there on emulated versions! I used to do something similar for GTA3 when the RC cars didn't spawn... pretty good fix.

 

I doubt this will be in the remasters as PC / IOS / Android all don't have this problem providing there isn't some emulation layer going on and this is properly recompiled.

My guess is that you can't let the "Insane Stunt Bonus" text come up as it counts as cancelling the wheelie... probably brushing the tail of the bike against the road too long or something. This would be much easier to tell in PC as you can just look at when the game is counting wheelie duration in memory but this is my best guess as to how this is working. If you do a wheelie down the runway without brushing the tail against the floor while progressively balancing it, I bet it works.

Yeah, my main 'theme' of my channel is Genshin Impact so my video opening has some 'Genshin' in there, sorry for the confusion!

I think they might change how this one works due to the complaints. Either you earn a lot more criminal rating in general, or the rating requirements for each rank are heavily reduced.

Hopefully.. That trophy took me 7-8 hours to obtain in the older version on PS4 by leaving my console on with a rubber band to the controller.

 

It shouldn’t exist in the game in my opinion lol.

Sorry to bump this but read through the thread completely and there is and Update that was not mentioned for "Take the Canoli"

 

-- I just purchased the Definitive edition a few days ago and am playing on PS4.... I straight away went for this Trophy--- so first thing I did was collect all the packages.... They seem to have patched the "Sea Skimmer" accuracy bug--- so shots fired DO COUNT so your accuracy will NOT go up using the sea skimmer (I did this originally on PS2)--- I did see a youtube video where the police boat can be utilized the same way firing at Cortez's Yahct in the Marina--- My save had 161 shots fired--- I rubber banded my controller and used the Police boat (was a pain to Jack this thing without dying)... let it go a few hours while I watched a movie and had about a 216,000 CR which was DON ranking--- I then used Cone Crazy doubling rick to get my money over $10,000,000 and the trophy popped for me...   HTH   

 

I will note that you can still get with just cash using Hunter doing vigilante with just cash since they reduced required criminal rating to 100,000 from 1,000,000 and you can earn up to 200,000 CR by maxing out your cash.

 

EDIT-- I snuck on to the base and stole the Hunter-- it's shots count now also-- Police boat like I mentioned above, looks to be the only way to exploit the accuracy bug now.

I always found it interesting that the people who worked on the Definitive Edition actually bothered to lower the CR points needed to get to Godfather down to 100K in Vice City. I guess they realised 1 million points would make trophy/achievement hunters lose their mind lol.

Having gotten GodFather on PS2 version the old fashioned way via killing-- this took forever (literally 8 to 9 months of grinding in my spare time a few hours at a time in the hunter helicopter)-- it would be virtually impossible without a tremendous amount of grinding-- A reasonable CR level would be maybe 210,000 to 220,000 --- can get max money grinding vigilante in the hunter for first 200,000 and then another 10,000-20,000 kills would be challenging but not overly time consuming... (knock out in a few hours)... would not be easy but not hard either with some dedication....  I'm sure there are only handful of us that got it (GODFATHER) the LOOOOONG way...
