GTA SA: The Definitive Edition - OUT NOW

We aren't in 2011 or 2013 anymore in terms of mobile phone power, there's a lot more headroom nowadays for something more proper, especially given those are being made in Unreal Engine now. I think we have nothing to worry about. There's not much sense in saying the mobile ports will hold back the PC and console versions when graphics can be easily lowered.

Yea, thos music got me back in the past when i was 6 years old, thats like 11 years ago. The Best and one of the first ga es i ever playd.I am realy excited about definitive edition of GTASA. I was always thinking about some New updates in GTASA but thought like "that is not poaible, bcs noone is updating gamea that someone made like 20 years ago". But i was wrong about that definitelly.

A song that San Andreas can do with on top of the existing songs, hopefully the soundtrack remains the same but if they're adding music like the ps3 to ps4 GTA V then this song has to be in it.

Seems very anachronistic and out of place to me.

It's about the lyrical content rather than the time period, besides there were plenty songs put in the games that only released after the year within the game.

That's not my point, though. The music you sampled was released waaaay after the setting of the game. So, it's technically not early 90s. Hell, it's not even late 90s. It's like putting renaissance stuff into the medieval ages.

The reason why those songs were put into the game is because they fit the 90s theme, and they somehow released in the later part of the 90s as well. So, they're still relevant. They released after a year. Basically, it still has year 1992 vibes. Overall, it still has that 90s vibes.

That song you suggested came out in 2006. Man, you took it way too far.... Music in the 00s sound noticeably different to those in the 80s and 90s.

It doesn't sound any different than 90s West Coast Hip Hop, the songs hook is sampling Funky Worm from The Ohio Players (which is in the game), a funk group that had great influence on the 90s gangsta rap.

hmm. That's a good point. Not tryna hate on your idea, I just find it funny hearing The Game in an early 90s setting.

Yeah it's cool, I understand where you're coming from but wouldn't it be an epic scene to be cruising in the hood with a Savanna listening to it.

I also thought that it would be fitting since Game voices B Dup

I used to listen to 2000s gangsta rap back in the days in GTA SA, too. If they're gonna replace old songs with anachronistic tracks like what they did to GTA 4, then I hope they do a good job with it.

I’m playing my PS2 version of San Andreas in preparation for tomorrow. There’s something about old games that new ones just can’t replicate. Is it the simplicity? The arcade-ish style gameplay? I really hope the remaster stays true gameplay wise to the original.

I also keep hearing this rumor that the graphics will only be changed slightly, but 45gb? 15gb per game, I think the classics were around 2/4gb each. That’s around 4x the added size for each game! All I’ll ask for is smoother character models, shaders, reflections, 60FPS (doubtful), and other quality of life additions like auto saving and replay missions.

I don't think it's gonna be 15gb per game. Around 25gb is probably GTA SA's size. And also, the minimum specs seem kinda high for a little graphical change. I think they're gonna look like PS4 GTA V if they're gonna be a remake, and PC GTA 5 with better effects if they're just remastering the audio, remaking textures, and character models.

I'm saying it's gonna look like GTA V PS4 if it's a total remake instead of looking like the PC version because R* will probably exhaust graphical resources if they turn out to be remakes. Remakes have new assets, new assets are more complex than older ones, with different layers of lighting and different layers of clothing. In this case, we might even have new clothing and looks for CJ, new clothing for storyline characters, and new variations of pedestrians.

Whereas if they're simple HD upscaling, the models and audio may not be that complex. We might see realistic, UHD version of CJ and other characters, but the models won't look as detailed as a total remake.

It doesn't look exactly like GTA V. The models are still kinda outdated, but the lighting comes close.

Well, no online play means to me that this won't have much of a replay value to me.

Sorry but, I played this game for 8 years straight before jumping to PS3 and GTA IV, I saw everything there is to see on these games already, I was expecting online because that was the one thing I always wanted to experience in San Andreas but never got around to making a proper gaming PC and nowadays my 10yrs old PC barely even works.

The updated graphics, lighting and textures just aren't enough for me.

You know something i hope they'll fix? That bigass Verdant Meadows hangar. I wanna be able to store more than 5 cars (i think that was the limit?) in there.

That's because that hangar was meant to store airplanes, not cars.

You can fit a Beagle or a Nevada in there + 4 other cars if you can find room for them, makes sense you see it like that.

I just ordered all 3 games’ strategy guides off of Amazon. I’m going into this old school lmaoo. Never got 100% completion on either game sadly so this should be quite the experience!

One thing I will be avoiding is the waypoint system.

At my peak of playing San Andreas, I could drive to almost anywhere on the map without any aid (not that the game had much aid in terms of GPS)

I want that feeling back.

Need to drive from Grove Street to Wheel Arch Angels? No problem, let's roll!

I'm so excited to relive my 2004 self.

Hell yeah, I still know the SA map like the back of my hand, even not playing it as often anymore. I could disable the HUD completely and still go from point A to point B most times. I assume the waypoints can be disabled, hopefully at least.

Since they are updating the mechanics i want R* to address something which i missed from almost all other GTA's which is using your own personal vehicle in the street races, this is the only thing i missed in SA.

For the cartoonish models and etc ... we are seeing proper reflections, hi-res textures, newer fog, rain, explosion effects and there you go.

Yet not like RDR 2 as people are saying, but i think (because of the specs) the trilogy should had been made in a proper HD treatment similar as IV, for me ... it feels strange to see the cartoonish textures alongside hi-res textures, same thing applies to the hi-poly models and low-poly models we saw in the trailer.

I personally can't say i'm "hyped" for this game again and until i see proper gameplay +  what features they will properly improve or kill, i will avoid to coment more about the trilogy.

I'm waitng for new trailer/screenshots to see the game again, since i like many ... think the trailer had some beta phase footage alongside recent version footage, but noneless ... i will play SA again. (since the game will be a day one in GamePass).

(R* had all the possible approaches to the modding pre-trilogy announcement and yet we got ... the old GTA's killed, the "modding" was also killed (for now) and fellow creators DMCA'd/Sued, so it is better to be good. (Aside trolls, R* deserves all the critics).

Yeah, that could have been cool to be honest. This definitive edition is a very strange beast, if you ask me. It looks absolutely outdated and proper mafia-style remaster would have been a game changer, but I suspect R* won't bother with that since VI should be in the works now. At least, I hope.

The classic trilogy had always been like that. The textures on the game world are in fact taken from photographs, hence they look realistic, but the characters' textures were kinda made-up. Character textures even have a particular color palette reminiscent to what was popular in that era, that's why they look cartoony.

Im Way too hyped for san andreas in particular. Gang wars, home invasions and viligantes. Gang wars and viligante will be way better with the new combat system.

The gang territories are hopefully gonna be easier this time around. Hopefully none of the very very small tiny ones.

You are wrong. West coast hip hop of 90s does not sound like that. It has same/similar element/instruments but still sounds different.

Theres also lots of elements in that beat that were not even used in early 90s. For example those claps are very mid 00s. Sounds out of the place for 1992 soundtrack.

Just compare:
