"Comfiest" part of maps in GTA?

Recommended Posts

Ocean Drive in Vice City

Angel Pine in San Andreas

Hove Beach in GTA IV

Starfish Island, Grove Street and Middle Park East too but the above three give me that homely feeling the most.

Hove Beach, Ocean Beach, Starfish Island and The Red Light District all make me feel at home.

Grove Street(, home), Doherty, Verdant Meadows, Prickle Pine (SA)

Ocean Drive/Beach, Starfish Island (VC/S)

Westdyke, Star Junction, North/East Holland  (IV)

Shoreside Vale (LCS)

Portland (III)

Paleto Bay, Sandy Shores (V)

San Andreas (V): Mirror Park

Oh, yeah, Mirror Park is a good one. The pond in the middle, the suburban style houses. Think that's also why I like the northern part of LV a lot, it's just very chill with regular people.

GTA3 - Claude's Portland safehouse interior is so neatly detailed it makes me want to just run inside through the door and jump onto the bed. Special shout-out to Mr. Wong's Laundrette for it's cool interior, it would've been a really nice workplace for Claude if the storyline didn't have him working against the Triads.

VC - Nothing beats the peace and quiet of the calm Ocean View Hotel interior, hanging around the lobby and upper floors during in-game evening time while listening to faint Spanish music playing in the background for the first time was just an extremely awesome experience that I haven't been able to recreate to this day. Apartment 3C is nice too.

SA - IDK why but all these trailer parks spread across Red County and Flint County are really good to hang around, and for some reason, the wooden outhouses dotted around the said areas seem kinda fun to me if the fact that these structures are supposed to be makeshift bathrooms is taken out of the picture. Additional plus points to San Fierro for being an overall calm and peaceful city, especially the Chinatown district which is the absolute comfiest place in SA and contains a nice purchase-able safehouse with a unique interior.

LCS - Casa's deli interior in Chinatown and the "See The Sight Before Your Flight" stall at Francis Intl. Airport are nice to look at, especially the former because you can see it through the window from outside.

VCS - IDK, maybe that one mission-exclusive apartment interior inside that unnamed Ocean Beach hotel near the Pay 'n' Spray in that area?

From III it's definitely the Redlight District, Staunton Island (especially Belleville Park).

From VC I'd say Ocean Beach, Washington Beach and Starfish Island

From San Andreas it has to be Ganton, East Los Santos, Jefferson, Idlewood Las Colinas, the entirety of San Fierro and the Strip.

North Point Mall with its distinctive background music, dark ceiling and the details all around like the raffle prize car you can actually jack and drive.

GTA 3's Portland. The most accurate representation of my home city in the year 2000, despite it being some 6000 miles away from New York. I can't even explain the mixture of feelings and memories that come over me from the landscape, music, sounds, peds' clothes, architecture; reminding of the time when I was 20 years younger, about the friendships I had and the events I encountered.

In the second place it would probably be SA's countryside, but it would be purely the nostalgia of playing the game. The countryside took me quite a while to get through, not mentioning the time looking for myths, and it was probably then when I got really attached to the series. I enjoyed GTAs before, but I never appreciated the detail of the games until then.

GTA 3 - the entire map, though especially Bedford Point and Cedar Grove. Such a strong New England vibe with the latter, and it pisses me off that Shoreside Vale essentially went to waste because of that giant useless ass airport. Seriously, f*ck Francis International.

GTA VC - Little Havana. A pleasantly run down Hispanic immigrant neighborhood with single family homes and businesses. I wish Mainland VC had more neighborhoods like it.

GTA SA - the eastern part of Los Santos. Violent, problem ridden, and impoverished, but I like the "suburban vibe" of some of the neighborhoods, and the "big city" vibe in a few others. Plus, driving in this area around sunset is special. The suburban areas of LV were also some of my favorite areas, and Palomino Creek.

GTA 4 - Hove Beach, Meadows Park, and the area surrounding Niko's penthouse; Alderney overall feels cool.

GTA 5 - Mirror Park. Should have been many more areas like this. Nuff said.

Palomino Creek in San Andreas is pretty chill

Came here to say this.

All of San Andreas' country side small towns and backroads aren't too dissimilar from my area so it's the comfiest for me. I love getting a Sabre or glitching myself a Phoenix and running around that area. Driving through there on PC with a General Lee Charger mod definitely adds to that nostalgia. I used to jump that one broken bridge all the time. Of course in SA I also like the area around CJ's garage. Spending all the time at the driving school to unlock the Hotknife is probably the reason for that.

Vice City's Ocean Drive is comfy as all hell, on top of that, after a recent trip to Miami, I was incredibly impressed by their accuracy and attention to detail in that area in particular.

GTA4's got the best atmosphere by far. The population density of Middle Park and Star Junction absolutely puts GTA5's rendition of Rodeo drive to shame. However it's the Hove Beach area that does it the most for me. I feel like the game can be the most fun when acting like Niko would towards his cousin, choosing to walk and use the subway over borrowing the cab and compromising Roman's revenue. Doing that really showed me the beautiful detail. Also I'm a huge fan of Once Upon A Time In America and that's near enough the part of NY that the gangsters in that film cut their teeth.

Mirror Park, particularly that large garage in the area is very nice. That being said, GTA 5's map is too disjointed. The downtown area feels tiny, the roads around the hills lack much sense and then rather than go the SA route of linking small country towns through backroads, they extended freeways all around which makes the map feel unnaturally small and ushers player routes around the interesting areas instead of through them. I loved the simple map marker in the 3D era and enjoyed trying to navigate my way through the country with the road signs.

The comfiest part of the map to me is Catfish View in GTA V. It's in the North-East part of the map, below the lighthouse. The street finishes with an oval/circle.

It gives you a special feeling when you go there in the evening, when the sun is setting. Also, I play GTA Online on PS3, so you might wanna check that part out on the older consoles before R* shuts the servers down. It's a really chill and good looking part of the map.

Paleto Bay isn't bad too, I bought a house there in GTA Online just to observe the landscape. Really enjoyable!

Cutter De Blanc

3 - Nowhere, the whole city is a violent hellhole, I don't ever feel at home

Vice - Outside Tommy's mansion, inside is a little creepy

SA - CJ's airfield

4 - Roman's broker safehouse, I love that little sh*thole with the Rock music blaring

5 - Whole damn island, we've spent too much time there

Lock n' Stock

GTA III/LCS: Portland Beach, particularly the end of the large rock that Salvatore's mansion sits on. Callahan Bridge as well, especially when destroyed/under construction (where there's no traffic).

GTA VC/VCS: Vice Beach, near the lighthouse. Also the sea shacks that lie in the middle of the ocean (between the two islands at the bottom).

GTA SA: Top of Mount Chiliad, or pretty much any rural area that's remote and quiet.

GTA IV: Hard to say since the city is either crowded or just plain depressing. Probably the abandoned casino in Alderney.

GTA V: Vespucci Beach or Mount Chiliad, or pretty much anywhere remote and rural (as in SA).

All these locations are even better for me when it's raining.

I tried to think what would be the comfiest of all, but I cant choose just a single one, thought they are all from San Andreas. Can't really pick "the best of" when everything about the map is so great and comfy. Just something from the top of my mind;

-Out of all the Bone County towns, probably the Palomino Creek. It feels the most peaceful and I like how it sits high, in comparison to sea level, you usually enter there thru bridges.

-Weirdly the Los Santos docks area feels comfy too, it's basically an island and despite being just by the city, it feels really isolated and remote there.

산 안드레아스(3D 세계관)

-All San Fierro

-Prickle Pine safe house yard, nice residential area, but especially the view you get of the highway that leads to LV.

Prickle Pine - Argonath RPG Wiki

-Lil' Probe 'Inn. Small, yet so effective and feels so authentic to a kind of place you would find near the real Area 51. The lighting, textures, etc are just 10/10

Sal's mansion in III. Despite it being the base of the Leones, it's such a safe haven from the general craziness of Portland.

Also Tw@ in EFLC, I'd love to get lost surfing the web listening to new age music.

Vice Point in Vice Beach, particularly the Well Stacked Pizza there and the little bridge near it.

Mulholland in Los Santos.

And... most of San Fierro. San Fierro Highway is my favorite road in any videogame and it'd easily be my favorite road in general if it wasn't for the few I love irl. The intersection that ended the freeway, the areas around it especially Missionary Hill (and the road that went through it) and Ocean Flats were just beautiful. It felt great to be there. I also liked to drive and hang around Hashbury. Paradiso was precious. I liked the Zip store in Downtown SF. Windy Street and the safehouse we could buy there gave off a good vibe too.

Angel Pine in San Andreas

Funnily enough for me it is also Angel Pine in SA. I don't know why but the visuals there are just so comfortable and relaxing. Especially the mission/cutscene King in Exile.

Vice City for me of course is basically all cozy. Probably the area I like the most is around Ken's office.

I am not great at remembering the names of places so I will describe best, but every game there is always an area I seem to just hang out the most and it always has the most nostalgia for me

3: Its the Dam area and Claudes safehouse in shoreside Vale

VC: Its around that building near the arena where you can walk in to get to the roof and get a Helicopter

SA: The Gas station near the train and mod shop in San fierro

IV: The safehouse you get from.... I wanna say Playbox X? (its been ages since I played IV) The one where you can get Claudes outfit

V: The pier with the ferris wheel and beach area.
