Scouting the Port

Did Somebody Say Yoga

The majority of flying missions. Having a horror time trying to pass GTA IV final mission not due to the boat chase but because I can't control the damn Annihiliator

Not surprised to see Scouting The Port on everyone’s hitlist (so far anyway). When people say the heists in GTA V make you feel “involved” I’m instantly reminded of this abomination.

In theory it’s not a bad idea I guess, but man did they f*ck up the execution. I’m not a fan of Robbing Uncle Sam due to the tedious folrklift section, but at least it’s broken up with some combat.

It’s ironic how this ends with Wade going back to Trevor’s safe house literally covered in sh*t because I’m sure most people felt after being put through it. The heist it builds up to isn’t much better. Infact as far as mission arcs go this is easily my least favourite stretch of any GTA game. Just awful IMO.

Anyway Family Reunited also gets a dishonourable mention. Not that it’s hard, frustrating etc since it’s just driving around from point to point, but more so that the entire thing culminates with Michael and Amanda screaming at eachother in Friedlander’s office in quite possibly the most cringe worthy and eyeball aching cutscene in GTA history .

If I wanted sh*t like that I’d drag up some old episodes from Jerry Springer or Dr Phil.

The mission that gets on my nerves the most out of all in the franchise is Supply Lines in GTA San Andreas.

The nature of the mission in itself is not hard, fairly easy and straight forward. What makes it real annoying to me is the clunky controls of flying the RC plane on keyboard and mouse, either I overshoot or stall when attacking the van/bike. Switching over to controller, and the mission is made a lot easier since I control on how much power to put into the engine and can control how hard I can turn the plane with the sticks.

Other than that after destroying the first three vans, the mission turns to a slog flying across the city to eliminate the last two of Berkley's vehicles.

Well I don't remember all the missions from the top of my head but I have always hated Key to Her Heart, Snail Trail and Madd Dogg's Rhymes. They feel like a chore. They aren't hard but they are boring.

III: Big'n'Veiny, Espresso-2-Go!, A Drop In The Ocean, Kingdom Come, Rigged To Blow

Vice City: Bombs Away!, Dildo Dodo, The Driver, G-Spotlight

San Andreas: Wrong Side of the Tracks, Life's a Beach, Air Raid, Supply Lines..., New Model Army, Learning to Fly and Vertical Bird

Vice City Stories: Turn on, Tune in, Bug out

IV: No. 1, Luck of the Irish, The Puerto Rican Connection

The Ballad of Gay Tony: Ladies' Night

Chinatown Wars: Dragon Haul Z

V: Scouting the Port, Eye in the Sky, Reuniting the Family

A good number of the payphone missions in III and ALL of Zero's missions (along with Learning to Fly) in SA definitely come to mind for the lowest of the low, in terms of being both utterly frustrating and completely devoid of enjoyment. The rest are mostly just tedious and dull. V had some pretty awful ones as well, Scouting the Port (obviously) and Eye in the Sky being particularly offensive in my eyes.

In terms of frustration, Unfriendly Competition in VCS. Even with health and armor boosts from doing the side missions, this one still takes me multiple attempts to pass on each playthrough.

However, I agree with a lot of you here in saying Scouting the Port is by far the worst mission in the series. Yeah, it's not at all difficult, but it's such a slog to get through. I'd say it's the poster child of how bad modern R*'s overly-scripted mission design can get.

The flight school missions and all missions for Zero in SA are very tedious and dull IMO. While I don’t think Scouting the Port wasn’t a fun mission by any means, I agree with the poster above me that GTA V had quite a bit more annoying missions. Did Somebody Say Yoga and Reuniting the Family definitely come to mind in terms of bad GTA missions. I mean, is this GTA or is this some sort of soap opera? I also don’t care for the excessive government missions in that game nor do I like the towing or epsilon missions in the same game.

Scouting the Port. I know, really surprising. Also any tailing mission in any of the games. Those were never fun. Escuela of the Streets was tolerable because you had Manny along for the ride but that's about it.

I thought I was playing as bitches for the FIB criminal masterminds, not average Joes.

Every GTA protagonist is someone's bitch at one point or another. CJ for Crash, Niko for the United liberty contact. And so on. Anyway on topic I'd say all of zeros missions, robbing uncle Sam, caesar vilapondo, any 3d era racing mission because of the awful driving and tagging the turf.

I remember "Cannon Fodder" on Vice City being a particularly annoying mission, at least on console.

"Naval Engagement" was another one that took many tries on my initial playthrough.

"Light My Pyre" from Vice City Stories is quite possibly the only mission in GTA history that I failed well over 100 times, and I mean that quite literally!
