A simultaneous console and PC release for a new R* game?! A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one! I really wasn't expecting that given, the R*'s history with the platform; color me shocked!

 

I would say that removing existing digital versions is a bad move, but at the same time, it means that you won't be able to buy the SA mobile port on Xbox anymore. Good riddance! A part of me is going to miss the Sonic Adventure DX levels of gloss on every character, though. 

 

That said, personally, this was a sorely needed announcement for R* after the past year or two. The disgustingly blatant anti-modding stance, the departure of Dan and Lazlow (albeit for family-related reasons for the latter), and E&E (along with its underwhelming, lazy trailers) have all left me jaded and legitimately worried for the company's future. I'm cautiously optimistic, at least for these Remakesters.
