I'm not denying the fact that it was always intented to be released this year, but they could've at least made some effort to adress the critism regarding E&E before releasing the trilogy imo.

I mean, what could they possibly address? "Hey sorry guys you don't like E&E, we are planning to change more don't worry, you can trust us meanwhile we are working on another project we cannot reveal yet". Anything rockstar would say in defense would be seen as an excuse, maybe some time ago they would have tried to reason with people and people would believe them, but at this time, there is no point.

e&e doesnt release until next year, they still have time to do that, and it's not even relevant to the trilogy

Well it kinda makes them look a bit greedy and uncaring for their fanbase, simple communication wouldn't be bad.

Rockstar and communication don't work together

lmao Rockstar isn't some celebrity that said some questionable things on twitter and now has to apologize. And what would they even do about it? They're too far into development to change anything, most they could do is follow in Battlefield V's footsteps of "Y'all don't know what the game's actually like, if you don't like it, don't buy it, stupid customers!" and we all know that we can already do that.. Don't like E&E? Don't buy it. Nothing to address about it.

A bit rough but quite impressive.

U made me see how really wide beach is in Vice City, probably widest beach in the whole world. I can see why some people complained about it.

@uNi or anybody that knows.

Does Rockstar still work from home? Or they returned to their offices?

PS5 and the Series X logos (SVGs) are already in the Rockstar Support website source, ready for the launch. :D

Rockstar is also preparing for pre-orders on the Rockstar Store website (inc, the RGL, which is now integrated into the Store website and console copies, but console ones may direct a link directly to the digital stores on PlayStation and Xbox). Oh, it also seems they won't charge for pre-orders until the release, nice touch (could only apply to merchandise but we'll see)

I remember hearing the WFH isn't really slowing down the development at Rockstar, could be wrong though.

Not weird, many game studios still are even in the US. Not all but still a few AAA ones I believe. Rather have slow-mo and employees doing things at their own pace than having them working too hard, especially when in the comfort of their own homes. :) I hope the AAA industry is convinced that hybrid is a good model.

Wow, I haven't heard of not charging for preorders until release for quite some time, I can't even recall the last time it was done

WFH is slowly becoming a regular thing. Some companies might even partly transition and only have people in office where it's most convenient.

WFH in game dev must be stressful in the UK since most households here get pretty slow broadband connections depending on the area. Imagine uploading 50 models to Stack with 300KB upload connection, uhg... I feel them

Ah, I'm not so familiar with the UK. But I can understand then. Is there such a thing as Business Plan that Internet providers can provide or is it all the same for everyone?

They can still work from home, it's just a massive drag to talk someone through a fix over the phone :kekw:

I'd imagine Rockstar is providing some help in need for a better connection.

Most game developers (all companies) use remote connections to workstations located in the physical studios. They just have to have enough bandwidth for the remote connection (not that much is necessary, but there can be issues) and don't need to download the files themselves ;) Most studios likely wouldn't allow that either so people don't have confidential files on their personal computers.

I do imagine modelling (for example) can be kind of a nightmare over remote, but apps like Parsec have done huge strides in removing latency and keeping quality.

A lot of bigger businesses are helping their employees switch to at least basic fibre if available, some lucky ones even get things like HyperOptic if their area supports it! I've done a good amount of work on stuff despite only having a 20Mbits up.
