By the way, the requirements being 45GB is with compression. The actual assets are probably much heavier.
Rockstar knows how to compress their games properly (the files themselves) so yeah... It could be really high resolution stuff.

I've run into a lot of discussion on how V's controls will apparently somehow improve these remasters. I must disagree on a few accounts, for one like you said, no proper crouching. Secondly V's controls are just a worse, watered down version of Max Payne 3's controls and the running, walking and aiming felt much more simplistic and responsive there than they did to me in V. Oh what's that, you pressed W by accident? Take 3 steps forward. Same for backwards. I absolutely hate the movement system in V and I really don't think replacing the controls system entirely for the 3D era is a good idea, especially if Rockstar claims to want to retain its "look and feel". They can revamp some of the aiming maybe but I personally have had no issues with the original movement system and prefer it to V's in almost many ways.

There's no reason to think they'll copy 1:1 the controls in GTAV. I very much doubt the changes will be that huge anyways, as the mission where you steal Madd Dogg's rhyme book would become literally unplayable without crouch walking.

Yeah I hope you're right. I mean if they take some small bits of V's system and maybe revamp the areas of the controls that are difficult to use today then maybe it could work but I doubt they'd have the guts to change the system entirely just like that.

I feel like by them saying "GTA V Style Controls", they simply meant having a control scheme layout similar to GTA V more than anything else. I.e using the triggers to accelerate/brake or to aim & shoot at target. Not saying they won't change the mechanics at all mind you tho.

I don't know why does GTA 5 get sh*t most of the time when it's mentioned here on GTAForums? If it's the third re-release then that's something Rockstar deserves sh*t for, not the product. If they upgrade the original controls to GTA 5 styled controls then it'd definitely be a great upgrade, and there's no need to worry about missing the crouch option (which was already non existent in GTA 3 and practically useless in VC) because they brought back crouching in RDR2.

Yeah... No, tnx. Sounds like people are just overhyping it too much. Just like those people who expected to see at least 3 huge cities on Cayo Perico island or people that thought E&E version of GTA V would look better than RDR2 lol.

If u expecting it will have "gta v like" graphics or anything like that, you gonna be really disappointed. You heard about Mass Effect: Legendary Edition? If not, look up how much they changed it compered to the originals. You shouldn't expect anything more than that (and realistically speaking, you probably should expect much less than that). Here, couple pictures to show you what I mean:

So when it comes to GTA trilogy I would bet on:

- AI upscaled textures
- Some post processing filters, better lightning effects, better shadows etc
- More npcs and cars on the streets, higher draw distance, no disappearing cars etc 
- Some 3d models might be slightly upgraded so all 3 games are more similar (for example hands in gta3, hairs with mode polygons, better trees etc). But most of it will stay the same
- Some small improvements to gameplay. Like cover system in gta 3. Maybe even a better ragdoll (but I srsly doubt it) 
- They might add bikes to gta 3 (something they already did in LCS)
- Roof textures added to gta 3 (if they want to add a working dodo plane)
- They might add some new weapons but I also doubt it 

From the "wishlist" part of your post? Yeah, that won't happen. You won't get new story missions or anything like that lol

edit: but if you looking for some crazy predictions that probably won't happen? Well...  now computers and consoles are powerful enough to render those 3 games at the same time. So imagine you could instantly switch between those 3 games the same way you switch between characters in GTA V. That would be kinda fun.

Or maybe online mode. Cause you know, R* loves online modes

They most likely don't need to AI upscale textures if they still have the source files. Things like brands, advertisements and stuff were all made in-house at R* North, there's a chance they still have the originals lying around, at the very least for that stuff. If the source files for roads, buildings and such (which would be edited photographs and not graphics made from scratch) are still lower quality they could upscale them, but I feel like they could have higher quality versions in a vault somewhere too.

Just wanted to say hello all !  New account, and after reading maybe a hundred pages,  thought I might as well join in..I was born in 85 and have enjoyed all the gta titles except the mobiles unfortunately...After the Trilogy discovery..and going down the rabbit hole of old 3d era gameplay footage...I realize I had rose tinted glasses on as far as my memories of these beloved titles...after  @alloc8or tid bits as far as details on these remasters...you might as drag me off to horny jail cause im ready lol... If these can look anything close to those fan made videos Welcome to the 80s youtube channel has done...woo weee lol I need Fernandos "cinco-cinco-cinco nueve-dos-nueve-dos"  coming out the radio!

It's only that a few specific people that have extreme issues with everything related to V . That and it's the most recent game. IV faced the same sh*t back in the when it was constantly criticized for not being like San Andreas and there's a high chance it'd happen to VI as well.
