I am not saying this is a wrong opinion. I even stated (maybe not here, idk) many times that it makes no sense for them to delist the games. Logically they'd keep both up.
Anyway, it doesn't feel to me like Zane genuinely cares about the developers. Buying either version is going to give Rockstar a cut of the money you spent on the purchase.
A potentially bigger cut for TDE as it's priced higher, but that depends on how their salaries/bonus/reward systems for employees work.

The deal is about preserving digital accessibility to classic games. 

 

It also makes you wonder about the quality of the remasters since they are worried (or not confident enough) about having the originals available on the store at the same time.

 

This did not happen with other TakeTwo IPs so...

Dear guys and gals, I know some of you are angry because your favorite gaming company has made some bad decisions and disappointed you. Believe me, I have made the harshest criticism on T2 vs Modders thread, E&E thread and some other platforms. I'm an old school fan too and I'm not happy about these decisions. 

However, this is neither the thread to talk about T2's DMCAs nor the fiasco trailer for E&E. We're here to speculate what's coming and what's not in this Definitive Editions. We're here to have hope, discuss, fun chit-chat and even disappointment, not depression, anxiety, anger and fight. If we're going to be disappointed, let us be disappointed. I don't want to scroll through pages and see wall of texts making me depressed as hell. As the end of page, I already feel tired to read more. Now please let us discuss about upcoming TDEs in a peaceful way. Thanks.

Or maybe they'll include the original versions when you buy the definitive edition, but obviously you'll keep being negative about it when you don't know any details about how they're planning to sell the games. Bioshock games aren't available for purchase either, but you get them for free when you buy the remastered version, so this could be the case for the trilogy as well.

I kind of see both sides of this, if I understand what you're all debating about. You are saying that Take2 shouldn't remove the older versions of the Trilogy games just because they are releasing this newest iteration, and others are saying that taking the old version down is all right?

Hopefully they (Rockstar Games) will turn things around and announce this stuff properly. Meanwhile I'll keep an eye on things, maybe something will pop-up, although it's a bit too late.

We don't know anything. If it turns out to be bad decision, we can criticize but if not and it turns out to be like it's in the game or the boxset already, we can be happy about it. All of the official versions were messed up from the beginning, they needed to be removed to be honest.

But the original games were only delisted when the new ones came out as they were immediately attached to the new repos instead. Stop assuming things about me as well, it's very disrespectful. "but obviously you'll keep being negative about it" is not the kind of wording I appreciate if you knew the things I've dealt with the past few months thanks to this company.
